Scene of some incredible racing over the years, this weekend sees the return of Formula One to one of the best venues on the calendar - welcome to the central discussion place for the Canadian Grand Prix. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Canada is one of the more established 'old school' racing venues on the current Grand Prix schedule and as such is a cherished event by both the F1 paddock and fans alike. Simple in layout but devastating in effect, the track has produced some of the best Formula One racing action seen in recent years, from the emotional first and only victory for Jean Alesi in the mighty Ferrari 412 T2 in 1995 to the shock exit of Lewis Hamilton from the 2007 running of the event, or one of Jenson Button's finest Grand Prix victories in 2011, races at Montreal never fail to show Formula One Grand Prix racing in its very finest light. With 2017 seeing the cars achieving speeds considerably faster than has been possible in recent seasons, and with a resurgent Ferrari well and truly taking the fight to the previously dominant Mercedes team, this seasons running of the event should prove to be another classic entry into the illustrious history of Formula One.
