Welcome to the central location to discuss the 2017 Formula One Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. Following an incredible Grand Prix around the streets of Baku last time out, the teams and drivers of the 2017 Formula One World Championship head to the more traditional venue of the Austrian Grand Prix - the 4.318km Red Bull Ring deep in the heart of the Styrian mountains. Relatively short by current standards, the modern version of the circuit should offer plenty of overtaking opportunities with two long straights concluding in large braking zones and tight corners, leading many to suspect advantage Mercedes come race day on Sunday. Despite finding himself heavily involved in plenty of controversy at Baku, Sebastien Vettel managed to come away from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend with an expended advantage in the points race over nearest rival Lewis Hamilton, keeping his and Ferraris championship hopes alive heading into the second half of the 2017 Grand Prix season. With power and acceleration at a premium for this race it could be another strong weekend for the Mercedes powered Williams and Force India teams, and with the weather expected to be reasonably warm throughout the weekend it will be a tough test of just how far the Ferrari team have developed in comparison to their immediate rivals Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.
