I'm in the United States and have been watching Formula One pretty religiously for 4-5 years now. I think I've missed maybe 1 or 2 qualifying and races in that time, and I always record every session just in case. NBC in the USA has televised every qualifying session and race on live TV on NBC Sports, CNBC, or NBC in those 4-5 years. However, this weekend seems to be different, with no real explanation. Sao Paulo is 3hrs ahead of me, so I'm expecting the quali and race to be around 11am for me. Why, then, is the quali being aired on TV at 9:30pm Saturday night? And then again immediately before the race on Sunday? This is a first for me, and I'm just a little confused with NBC's decision. I understand NBC no longer has a reputation to uphold because they will not be airing F1 races in 2018. But, I can imagine there will be plenty of people showing up at 11am for the quali and not know where it is. And, not know to come back at 9:30pm if they want to watch it.
