INTRODUCTION
Welcome to first official Racedepartment World Endurance Series event.
The Racedepartment World Endurance Series, or RDWES for short, is a series of (semi)endurance races we will hold during the year.
For this first episode, we will visit the Mid Ohio track in the USA. Mid Ohio Sports Car Course is a road course auto racing facility, located in Troy Township, Ohio US, just outside the village of Lexington. Since it’s opening in 1962, it has been optimized a few times, which results in the current layout available for rfactor2. The track is perfectly suited to host multiple classes running at once, with its wide lanes and overtake opportunities all around.
There will be NO driver swaps allowed in this event. Total race length is 100 laps, which will equal about 2.5 hours of racing.

AVAILABLE CARS
The cars available will all be from the GT classes. In addition to the GT Endurance Series by ISI, we have decided to include the Renault Megane Trophy, and the Maserati GT 2012.
RaceDepartment will try to stay up to date with the latest patches and releases of these mod’s. This list will be updated according to the latest decisions of the staff concerning implemented patches and releases.
Available choices will be:

GT1
Nissan GT-R

GT4
Nissan 370Z
Maserati GT

One-Make Racing
Renault Megane

SKINS
For this round, a custom MOD will be created. This mod will contain a few skins for each car, in Racedepartment style. Everyone is free to pick a skin from the available options.

SCHEDULE/SESSION INFO - ALL TIMES IN GMT
Official Practice: 16:30 (90 minutes)
Qualification: 18:00 (30 minutes)
Warm-up: 18:30 (5 minutes)
Race: 18:35 100 Laps

All drivers must be in the server at least 15 minutes before qualifying, anyone who joins after the start of qualifying will start from the back of their specified class with the exception of people who experience last minute technical issues. The server will be open for unofficial practice before official starting time, and will be restarted at 16:30 GMT exactly. From that moment on, the server will stay up, so a nice rubber pavement can be made.

Signups.
To sign up for this event, you must have a valid license from Racedepartment. If you sign up, we do expect you to show up!. To sign up, please take a look in the Sign Up Thread.

For now, we have limited the signup list to 28 entrants. If needed, we can expand that number with an additional 20 drivers, so all can have a go at this.

Notes.
· Chatting of any kind during Qualifying and the Race is strictly prohibited in the chat. There is no need to say sorry/thanks/pitting/leaving pits/etc. Anything that needs to be said can wait until after the session.
· If you feel you were wronged in any way during an event and wish to report the incident, simply send the event organiser a private message. Please include a description of the incident along with a video. If you are unable to create a video, please include details such as who was involved and where the incident happened with a timestamp. Do not post reports/accusations in the thread itself - negativity and anger gets us nowhere.
· We encourage all our drivers to use Teamspeak 3, download here. Talking directly to your fellow drivers increases the fun and the ability to share information in an easy friendly way. It will improve your driving skills dramatically, Log in here
· Please take into account that rFactor 2 is still in beta stage and that technical problems might occur. If you spot a bug please post a (constructive) report in the dedicated bug forum here.

I would like to sign up for this and compete in my first rFactor 2 RD race, but I am having issues getting Mid Ohio to work online... Bit of a newb with rFactor 2 as I have only just properly started playing it since the end of RDTCC

I think it would make sense to remove the Maserati. There doesn't seem to be much interest, and it would probably run smoother with just the 3 cars. I mean, the game takes a while to load with the 70 or so Maserati skins there seems to be in the mod.

@jimi,
What is your problem with getting it online? You need to practice it offline, via the All cars and tracks option. Not possible to "just" host it online.

@Mark,
Those skins will be gone. There will be a new mod, with just a few skins in it. Loading will not be the issue. But, if the car is not picked at all (sign up is just opened, so give it some time), I might consider taking it out.

@Stefan and the others,
Yes. The rules will be exactly the same as all other endurance races we had here on RD. When being lapped, don't go on the defending line. Also, do not make any sudden moves, or moves people can not understand. It's ok to lift for a moment, to let someone by, but do not press the brakes full when someone is coming up behind.

The one who is going to lap, needs to look for the opportunity. Do not expect this to happen instantly all the time. It might take 2 or 3 corners to find the right moment and time. Don't expect the slow drivers to go into the gravel, just because you are going to pass.

And for those that are going to be lapped (like myself :p), don't over-push when someone is coming from behind. Make sure you keep full control of the car, so you do not have to make any strange moves to "save" the vehicle.

That way, we all should be able to get to the finish ;)

Marco, I think there is a high chance I was just being a bit dull... It works offline via all cars and tracks, but I could not join any of the online rooms using that circuit, with the message "mod not found" on all online rooms.

I thought one of the rooms was with the standard Megane Mod, but on closer inspection it says IsR Megane League so I presumed there was a mod for that league. I am currently downloading the IsR Megane League Mod just to use as a trail to see if that allows me to join the room. It would be easier to diagnose if there was a Normal Megane server up at Mid Ohio!

Sorry if I am being a bit vague or dumb, but I am only just getting into rFactor 2 and taking a while to adjust... both in operation and driving! :p

Well, if you guys want me to, I can set up a test server, containing all cars that are in the race. So you can test them out, see what fits the best. As I am not going to make a car for everyone, people can change the car they want to race with until 1 day before the race. Shall add that to the rules.
The day before the race, the final entry list will be made.

Anyway, let me know if a server is desired, and I will put one up ;) Make sure you have all 4 cars installed! Thats needed to join.

A test server would be good, but personally I can wait as I am at my GF's this weekend, I have my PC so I am testing out the function of mods, etc. but I dont have my wheel so I cant get into testing cars for race preference until Monday.

A test server would certainly be useful for me to check if the track is working, but dont put it up just for me as I will not be able to hang around for testing this weekend.

Also, is the Maserati an ISI Mod? I have the Meganes and both lots of Nissan, but I dont think I have the Masarati

I have read and understood all rules for this race, and hereby would like to sign up. I will participate in the Maserati

(NOTE: I am open to change cars if, for instance, if at the end there are only a couple of Maseratis signing up, or another class needs more drivers. I picked the Maserati because no one so far had picked it. I will test tonight to see if it's at least competitive with the Nissan in the same class. If it's too far back or much faster, I may switch to the Nissan if the organizers allow me.)

The Mazza is not the nicest drive (IMO) but its dang fast in a straight line :confused: I was tempted but went for the 370z as its a long race and you need a car you enjoy more than the 'fastest' for an enduro event like this :D. The Megane was a deffo option but everyone is going that route :speechless: so I thought I would avoid it!

Speaking of the maserati, it seems to be much faster than the 370Z. On the other hand, it laps almost identical times as the megane so maybe they should be in the same class, not in the 370's class.

Also, someone mentioned the skins. Yes, there is way too many of them. Is there a way to reduce the number? maybe by removing them and creating an RD skin set.

I was trying to do a single player test but the maserati takes pretty much all the spots, then the Megane takes what's left over and if you are lucky you get a Nissan or two. In any event, the maserati is too fast for the nissan, but the nissan is much more fun to drive. The maserati feels unstable.
