Steam just updated the Race series to 1.2.0.8!

August 7, 2009 - RACE 07 Update Released

Updates to RACE 07 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Fixes

• Fixed stability issues in the rendering pipeline
• Fixed session timer in HUD and Garage menu
• Improved AI clutch control on launch
• Various triple head fixes
• Fixed saving of total stats
• Fixed selection of track cameras when switching viewed vehicle
• Fixed bad draw distance in free flight camera mode
• Improved behaviour of blown tyres
• Fixed blue flags raised even though they were disabled
• Fixed bad behaviour of AI cars after race finish
• Fixed bug with ghost cars generating drafting

Features

• Enabled all STCC and GTR Evolution exclusive features in RACE 07

No, works fine in freecam and all the others.

Only place it didn't work fine was in an instant replay in a race - if you save the replay and watch it back later it works fine. Also works fine in race monitor.

Hm, havn't tryed that. Only the instant replays. But ok, I can still get cool shots then. Still a bit irretating though.

Yes it is a bit, thankfully it works in the full replay mode so at least we can still take some cool screenshots

I wonder if the AI change tyres without forced pit stop. Maybe that's why that feature was activated.

The AI look like they are changing tires with forced pit stops on. They still do not change tires without enabling this option, from what I see.

Game has major stuttering issues offline when AI cars get close to each other, like a corner near the beginning of the race when the cars haven't spread out much. I think this problem has always been there though.
I haven't noticed any new problems with this patch at least. Game still runs like it always has. Decent performance, except with large grids of AI cars. Game seems stable.

It's amazing how a game on such an old and dated engine can have these performance issues...
Simbin if your Lizard game still has these problems I'm going to cry.

Programs like XD will always stop working after a patch because they rely on a specific version of the EXE. We'll need to wait for the authors to update them.

When I go back to pits to load cars I get a few flickers of black screen. Other than RACE intro movie being disabled I can't see much else.

I can't get it to work either. It works in car and with menus but no longer in free cam mode. Great work Simbin :curse: Maybe we'll get that function back in your next update in about a years time. Unbelievable.

Easy fix is just print screen and paste into paint.

Well, after spending some time with the new patch, I can say that they have fixed most of the bugs, but not the biggest ones. The timing bug is gone and we have lap record logging, as said by others, but for me at least, the freezes are still there. Though it may have been a one-off, I got a freeze about a half-second long during offline practice at Donington.

I still love the game itself, but rFactor's looking like a more attractive proposition to me at the moment...

Mini has an adjustable splitter? Was that always there and all the servers had took it off or is it a new feature? Just noticed in some pub server that i could adjust it and Mini got even funnier..

If your using ATI cards and you havent installed the new drivers that came out on 7-23-09, try them out it seems to have cured my system stuttering and freezes (fingers crossed).

An adjustable splitter on the mini sounds like an old bug returned . Could you please check if that happens on all the default tracks or just on a few?

I've tried it on a few tracks and it isn't adjustable.

Well yesterday i did adjust it to 24 So it is there but let's just check on it some more. I was driving online, on a public server, maybe it's a bug or it's not available offline..

The track was Zandvoort Club.

We're you playing the MMG Mod before the mini's? I had that problem yesterday and think it was to do with that?
