    Pitstopboss News Update - 12th November 2009

Some minor bugfixes and housekeeping today.. so without further ado, here they are!
    • Adjusted the skill rating text so that it's inline with the recent equipment performance rating. (The old code calulations was helping to slow a few things down in the database). The upshot of this is that a few people on the borderline between Amatuer and Professional status may swap around in the text department. Rough rule = < 31 novice, < 41 amature, otherwise professional.
    • Fixed some warning popups and messages that contained # signs (pyramid league mails)
    • Level 2 and above only can apply or join the pyramid league now. Some level 1 players have entered that are no longer player and i want this league to be for players with a moderate degree of understanding of the game.
    • Awards page now shows how many times you get an award (going forward)

The main work has been on the Academy feature, which has had a few tweaks since it's first roll-out.
    • Academy owners can now invite students via an icon on their team page (top right).
    • Academy members can now see if their mentor is online by some text displayed where the vote links are (top of the page)
    • Academy members can click a button (Academy Chat) in the menu and be instantly transported to the Academy chat area and page the mentor.
    • Academy members now can vote to rate the performance of their teacher (stats will be shown after a few weeks).
    • Academy owners will be paid out as soon as the student completes level 2. (I did say reaches level 2 before, but this was a mistake).
    • Acadamy owners get a special icon whereever their details are displayed.

Good updates but I got a question...

If my chasis runs out of contract and I bought a brand new one(all 30s) would that drop me into the amateur zone? and would that effect any competitions I'm in?

if you drop down into another zone, you can still run (it wouldn't affect competitions that you are in)

What about the other way around (going up into another zone), say by developing or buying a better developed chassis or engine or tire set, will you get kicked out of lower level comps by default?

You wont get 'kicked out' of any comps. this is just a way to categorize players more baseed on their actual equipment. like games such as Forza and Gran Turismo.

There may be the odd occasion you are in a comp and you lose a contraact and drop down in performance rating.

In the league games, you will be able to achieve certain bonuses depending on how many people you beat that are on higher performance ratings than you.
