About the real forecast, I don't see why you are not gonna display it, but it's your decision and I'm fine with it.

But you talked about the engine health and I'd like to tell you something. I don't know if the people that reported this already told you, but let just say so you can know it for sure.

During last weekend's endurance here in RD, 2 people reported that their engine blew when the engine health still showed the same value from the start. I can't remember exactly, but I think one said the the start value was 92% and the other one 100%, but the main thing is that these values didn't change during the race.

Because of this, I ask you: is it a problem? Is there a way to foresee these cases? Isn't the engine health supposed to give an answer about this?

I'm asking not like an interrogation, ok, I'm asking as someone that won't know what to do when the next enduro comes.

    Cheers.
Concerning the engine-health there is a problem in the version 0545, but I fixed it since (Dll which were given here were corrected).
In fact I had made an error of boolean comparison when I had modified this part of the code to avoid the crash of the game when we deactivated completely the management of the mechanical damages :-s

Thus now (patch or the next release) everything will be correct.

There is no means to foresee if the engine is going to break or not. I can only display the remaining value.
If for example you go up RPM several times in the red zone, the health is going to come down to 99%, then 98% etc. Because a light over-RPM doesn't wear out a lot the engine in some conditions.

But... If one over-RPM breaks a connecting rod, an air valve, camshaft, the engine-health is going to go from 100 to 0%, or from 95 to 0%.
The game simulate what can arise in the reality according to the error committed by the pilot (or car-crash..), and/or to these consequences.

That arise in 1 second, I have no time to warn the pilot because it is already too late

I know how to make that quickly but I do not know where to place them on the screen

Is there any way to turn off the engine sounds when the server first starts? :giggle:

I think it is the best choice: show the forecast but let us some doubts about its reliabilty and let us behave like Ferrari team :giggle:

Just to inform you about the championship resume mode:
I confirm that if you load a championship stragith to a race mode MotecAdd 'thinks' you are in qualify or practice (laptime instead of gaps).
Not a big deal, I know it and I load to Warmup session

Keep up with your great development :victory:

Yes it is a case non-foreseen in MotecAdd (get real :p)

There are many things to be initialized for the race session.
I would see how I can foresee this situation.

I do agree with Alekhine choice on not displaying the weather forecast. It will clearly be an advantage in endurance races. Let me give u a simple example (not that well thought but it will work):
    - Driver 1 doesnt have MotecDX.
Rain starts during a 3 hours race. What to do? Driver 1 decides to pull in to change to wet tires. However, after 3~5 minutes the rain stops and it is dry again???
    - Driver 2 does have MotecDX
Rain starts however MotecDX tells him that the forecast is dry. Driver 2 can just suck it up for a few minutes and wait for the rain to stop.

I think what Alekhine doesnt want to happen in the fairness of the game is to advantage anyone with MotecDX (I am still waiting for the press this to be an alien button)

Ok, i've implemented Alien-button (cruise control)
New option : AlienModuleActivated=1 (by default)

euhhhhh no, it's for the next week :rotfl:

    More seriously:
I chose to display a good compromise for weather/"forecast", by respecting the forecast-system of the game.

I modified the info-module to have more space, we need no more Delta indicator because now it is displayed above the graph...

There are multiple situations obviously, here is 3 examples:

    - No mystery here because everything is dry

    - Here we see the forecast dry, and the wet track. DX displays the percentage of humidity (24% on the track, ambient 25%, forecast dry).

    - For the race I observed the forecasts in the game, then I go out on grid.

DX displays 15% of humidity for ambient and track. The forecast is "rain", with an additional information (the barometer) : 1270 millibars.
After some lap we see the rain increasing, the atmospheric pressure decreased (1220 millibars), track and ambient are in 21% of humidity.

So DX makes nothing for you, you have to understand, interpret, and possibly appreciate the result of your work during the race :skywalker:
I think that it's funny, and useful only if the drivers manages to remember the variations and the direction of the variations :skywalker:˛

    Symbols:

    Track:
    (Dry)
    (Hum xx%)
    (Wet xx%)
    (Flo xx%)
(ie Dry / Damp / Wet / Flooded)

    Ambient:
    Dry
    R:x.xbar
(ie Dry / Raining + Barometer)

Ouch, that will be sad for me, I need the delta but I do not like the graph (the number is enough for me).... any chance to make me happy? :giggle:

    The forecast is VERY nice!
Barometer??? how did you find it? but most of all....how do we interpet it (the lower the worse the weather is getting?)

    MotecAdd rocks! :victory:
