3 laps of practice, 4 months of hiatus, a reasonable setup. Less than usual attendance due to the Easter holiday, but we were ready to go! All session times were lost when advancing the race sessions, so the grid was very mixed. That meant two drivers who are usually midfield or near the rear had 1-2, and it was an overall shaky start. P1 lost it before the Dunlop bridge, with P2 running inconsistent and non-confident lines. Sadly at the chicane exit on Mulsanne, he had a late rear grip loss and braked as I was accelerating out. That one spot where if you upset the car, it spins... so I sadly couldn't avoid him. Shortly after, as I was still settling in the car, I had 2 mistakes that cost 4 spots. Then things settled, just before I pitted, P2 had a weird, massive crash that forced him to retire. On lap 8 I had my pitstop but sadly, there was a problem with refueling (sucky but cool to hear the message!) and I lost about 10s on top of the slow stop. It still wouldn't have altered the 2nd place finish (28s back). Not bad considering everything!
