    GTL timetable

OK gents - we are entering the Winter RD League season, and so it's probably the right time to think about the GTL schedules. I know a few of you are also in other Leagues that run over the weekends, so I'm trying to take that into consideration with the proposals below.
    1. The tracks used in RDHGP will not be used in any Racing Club (RC) event from now until the end of the RDHGP season.
    2. As the RDHGP is using the 76ers this season, they are also coming off the menu in the RC until season's end. Both this point and the previous are designed to keep the League events nice and fresh, just like the embargo on laptime discussions. They worked well last year, so if it's not broke...
    3. Saturday events - I am looking to move back to the CotM format. For those who weren't around until recently, CotM = Car of the Month, where we have every Saturday within a calendar month running the same single make car in a variety of event types. It could also be a way of really getting to grips with the mod cars, as well. And because it lasts a month, the people who race alternate weekends in other leagues would not miss out quite so much on the new cars.
    4. Tuesdays - I'd keep the same blend of events as currently (sprint/sprint & feature/enduro/single make/matched makes), but only using the TC65 & GTC65 class.
    5. Thursdays - on the Alternate Thursdays between RDHGP races, we'll have full class events using the TC65 + mods & GTC65 + mods
Any comments for feedback on the above is always welcome. Even if I don't integrate the feedback into the schedule, I always consider suggestions on their own merit, so please - fire away.

That all sounds fine to me, it gives plenty of variety for the Racing Club whilst still keeping the RDHGP League kinda fresh and different to the Club stuff. I think the COTM idea for weekends is a better idea (even though I often miss those events on a weekend).
I think we should keep throwing in the occasional mixed class race, these work very well in the Racing Club when people are prepared to experiment and not just pick the fastest car to win all the time.

Unfortunately, I'll be away for about a month starting next week, so I'll miss the first two RDHGP rounds and lots of Club activities, but I'm sure you'll all have lots of fun with this "classic" sim. I hope we see more of the League guys also joining in the Club fun too, we really do have a great time together. :)

Stuart, maybe in the coming event setups there is time to explore some new mods ? Aston Martin and Triumph TR4 are great mods to try out?

Something else, looking for the Mods I have to work my way trough lots of treats to find them, can we make it a sticky so it is easy to find?

Totally agree - that's exactly what the Thursday between RDHGP is for :good:

And - as I'm doing the results now, I'll be able to keep track of who drives what. :spy:

The Aston has just received some new physics (thanks to Sam for pointing this out to me), so if people were up for the CotM suggestion, the DB4 will be the first one. The TR4 was giving us some very strange results in XD (superheated brakes and tyres), and I'd prefer to keep the mods down to the absolute rock solid ones that are good enough to be defualt GTL cars.

So far, the Skylines, Corollas, 250SWB, 904s have all met that criteria, the Fulvia & R8 Gordini haven't. If the TR4 is a little unpredictable, then I'd rather omit it so as not to compromise the overall experience.

There are a few more mods around that I want to try out, some that are differently specced versions of default GTL vehicles - Abarth TCR, Porsche 911 2.0, Escort 1600, Alfa Junior etc. We never really gave the Dino a proper crack as well - because it was too slow to fit in with the 76er pack, but that doesn't mean it's not going to be fun to race on it's own, or against suitably specced competition.

This looks absolutly cool to me Stuart! :)

Only can say i'm looking forward to some more mods, as i missed the Skyline and corolla events. But as i can read and see, they will come, so. :D

No worries here. As long as the leagues i enter are fine (and you guys always make sure they do) i have both ears ro rest on, and here and there i try to pick up some events...

Looks very good Stuart:good:. And new mods are always welcome.

One question though. I remember you planning a "team-event". What happened to this format? Just curious...

we had one - it was OK but possibly Spa was the wrong track to use for it.

We'll have another go one of these days.

OK - after some feedback, I've simplified the upcoming events a little bit. After tomorrow's Abarth event, and while the League is on, I'll only be using a single track per event, and a max of 2 races.

So - to keep it simple but not boring - it'll either be two different (but similar) layouts of the same track, close enough so that you'll only need to find a single setup that will handle both layouts - OR - the exact same layout and 2 vehicles, so even though you need 2 setups, the track will be totally familiar and allow you to feel immediately comfortable.

Hopefully the above measures will make people feel comfortable enough to sign up and join in, without making the events too samey and boring.

Also - as promised above - we've got a Team event back on the calendar.

Just great Stuart, team event will be perfect.

About simplifying the events I agree, the setup for Laguna Seca with three races and a choice out of 13 different cars is to much for me.

That is why I did not sign up,and you now, I don't do that often.
