Hello all.

As is customary, I will be starting to trail the next RDHCS season while still in the middle of the current one.

This time though, the process will be slightly accelerated, because we have a shorter break between seasons as we adjust to our timetable that avoids the peak Summer Holiday season and the Christmas/New Year break. This allows more people to compete in more rounds without absences.

There are just 6 weeks between Season 9 finishing & Season 10's Test event and so, as I'm aware that some of you like to have some extended testing time on the cars, I'll be announcing the final S10 vehicle list between Rounds 4 (23/10) & 5 (6/11) of this season. That will give you all around 3 months before the S10 Test event (29/01) to take them out, shake them down, spin then round, light them up, or whatever verb + preposition combo you like best.

I suspect that you will need the time to do your due diligence, as we have (deliberately) kept the vehicle carset quite large for S10, hopefully to provide even more variety and make the already tricky choice that much harder.

The last thing that will be released will be the finalised track list, as we are still compiling that at the moment, so you won't have the full 3 months of testing the League cars on the League tracks.

As finalised details emerge, those details will be formally posted in the (yet to be created) S10 Intro & Info Thread, and this thread will metamorphosise into the S10 General Chat thread as we get past the end of S9. Until things are finalised, everything I say in here and should be filed under a "provisional" banner.

As always, there is to be no talk of laptimes, relative speeds etc. either before the vehicle confirmation while you are speculating, or after confirmation when you are testing.

Here are the details I can release now:-

Nominal Season Class: GTC-65 (I say nominal, as there may be cars that are unbalanced in their own class that match up well in this set).
Number of Available Vehicles: 9
Default to mod ratio: 4:5
Rounds: 8
Format: 100km (200km finale)

Vehicle set teasers:
3 of the 9 cars have appeared in previous Seasons run by me (not necessarily in the same season as each other).
2 of the 9 cars have models in the Current season.
There is 600kg between the lightest and heaviest cars in the S10 car set.
The most powerful car has nearly 3x the power of the weakest
1 of the 9 cars has never been used by RD in any event (yet).
There are 5 different manufacturing nations represented in the car set

Ok will stick with my current install then if it works, I will just need the link to the mod pack and were it installs to ?
To put it shortly: if you have an existing install with add-on cars and such you might want to delete local game content on steam and reinstall it. The current cars can be installed in the wrong (different) directories and you can have problems with installing the skins. Fresh install guarantees you won't have any issues.

And it comes from me, I don't usually do fresh installs. GTL can be a pain because of the folder structure.

the first thing you need to do is sign up for the league ( CLICK )
As it is to late for a skin you will have to pick a car that has not been used from the defaults..
I will come on t/speak and run you through the second install of GTL when signed up.
it quite easy and takes about 20 mins to get it all in place..
This need to be done as we have cars that have been altered to allow them to be used in the same category.. if not it will interfere with your club race's
We have just under 2 weeks until the next league race as they are run every 2 weeks on a Tuesday.
So plenty of time...
sign up and state which car you would like to use from this list

Just did some laps around R1 and wow what a track  it has a little of everything, some tight slow corners some fast tricky ones and one or two places and it is pedal to the metal and smile as the old Ferrari hits 140mph on the straight:D before you pray that the brakes still work ;). It is going to take a lot of practice to master this track but i am looking forward to a good scrap against the Shelby's and Jags around here.

Have you not driven this track before, Neil? If not, then yes, it's got a lovely flow to it.

We've had a Club event round here I thought you were at, in Fulvia 1600s & Porsche 912? Very different cars, yet very close in overall terms.

Knut, Rupe & I did some testing in a mixed pack (65 Vette, EType Lightweight & Rupe's own Healey) and the results were a little unexpected to us. The Healey was slightly outclassed by the other 2, the Lightweight Etype handles beautifully, and so removes the Healey's main advantage in this pack, but the Jag has over 50bhp more. That was as expected - the cars are in 2 different performance classes for us.

The Vette & Jag were another matter - The Vette is overwhelming in the bhp stakes (430 vs the Jag's 275) and there's only about 200kg weight difference, and so as expected so the straights were the Vette's playground.

BUT - unexpectedly, the Jag was so much quicker through the (deceptively tricky) corners, and had decent enough muscle to pull away nicely from the exits, it stayed in front for a good few laps before the Vette could get onto event terms.

Just when the Vette got up to passing speed, it was hard on the brakes time.

Neil Gault and all other top 15 in the standings - please stop practicing, especially that sort of praccy where you improve your lap time every two days - thats just scary! Improved by 7 seconds already arghhhhh ! By next Tuesday you'll be lapping us before we cross the start line at that rate !

Stuart Thomson - will the praccy server be going up and if so when, can't wait to get on it and see just how much I have to do just to stay with the pack. Mi little Lotus likes some of this track but really, really hates other bits! And can we remove one of Ross' wheels for this next race please!

Any chance of a setup for the Escort 1300GT ;)

As luck would have it, I just found the one I used when testing the Escort. I only tested at R1 Circuit and didn't spend much time fine tuning it, but from memory it felt ok to me. I very nearly picked the Escort from this test.

Anyway, here it is, maybe you find it helpful. Don't forget to adjust the Steering Lock to suit your Controller or driving style. The fuel level will also be wrong for the actual race distance.
