Just a few reminders before race day.

Please make sure you download the latest skinpack before the race. RD skinpack v2 here... http://www.catalinasgrace.com/mystuff/rd/RDMX5_skinpackv2.rar

It was brought to my attention that when coming around the start finish line and heading into T1, that a time advantage could be gained by cutting across the pitlane exit lane and into T1. If someone is seen doing this a severe time penalty will be served. Please remember to keep 2 tires on the track at all times.

In the event that you get a cut warning anywhere on the track use your best judgement to remove yourself from the race line while slowing down and waiting for the warning to be removed by the in game iRacing system without interfering with other drivers.

We've all read the Championship info but once again, this is just a reminder.

Also, please be courteous to others on track as there is to be NO text/voice chat during qualifying and race. Minimal voice chat during the race is acceptable.

Now that all the serious stuff is out of the way, I know everyone is looking forward to Round 1 of the RaceDepartment MX-5 Championship. As I for one am very excited to get this league under way. So everyone have fun, good luck and enjoy the racing!! :)

I have not had much time with the Mazda this week due to the V8's and Grand AM. I presume race distance of 20 laps can be done on one tank?

I'll have to double check one more time Lee. But for me, 4 gallons was just enough for 20 laps during open practice yesterday. Was this fuel enough for everyone else?

Lars Strijdonck Six by nine. Forty two.

Will i feel sick, i need to skip round one of the Mazda league.
    Be there next round!

I want to apologize to Neale, i am very sorry about the incident in t1. I am truly sorry, I misjudged the braking point and I went into you. I would like to ask for the administration to take my points away for this race, and, if judged necessary, apply me any extra penalties.
    I apologize once again,
    Fernando Mattos

Thanks for the setup William, helped a lot. Was laid low most of the week so didn't get much practice in. Not feeling it today either. As bad as that was, could have been worse for me...

Here is the lap-chart from the race. Lots of movement in the first three laps, then settled down a bit. Flavien gets the award for upward movement, I think... (edit, actually, ties with Evan)

Did not even get a qualification time to valaidate THEN crashed on lap 1 against John, went in the pits... Then I just had to get back up as much field as I could :)
One of my biggest screw up in a long time during a race hahaha
    Tons of fun though!
    Really awesome race :)

    Thanks Will for that event!
I'll be there next week for sure :)

Thanks to Will For organizing and conrats to Kevin on the win. This was my first race with RD and I had a blast(and a bit of nerves). Had one main goal and that was to finish without ruining anyones race..that I accomplished. Second goal was to not get lapped...Kevin passed me about half way through the last lap so I almost accomplished that one.

I did learn two things... I need to get my stamina up a bit..I felt my concentration flagging about lap 14. I also learned that I have to stop worrying about much faster drivers coming up on me I think I spent to much time checking the relative box and I slowed up too much letting someone pass and lost 2 or three positions...Also getting around someone who had an off with a fast car coming behind rattled me a bit so I just need to work on my racecraft a bit. Thanks again all!!

Please be patient as I am working on getting the results and point standings up into the RD MX-5 Standings thread. Most likely everything will be up for everyone's viewing pleasure by tomorrow morning at the latest.

A quick thank you for everyone who came out for the first RD iRacing League race. It was awesome to see a full grid of fellow RDers on track at the same time. Also Round 2 race details at Summit Point will be posted soon. :)

I had to go lick my wounds over a piece of left over pink and purple princess birthday cake so I'm good over losing 2nd... lol... Just kidding Mr. Watts, I just had to give you a hard time. I really enjoyed seeing so many turn out for the race. Congrats on a job well done Will, as I know you put in a lot of work for us.
