RaceDepartment Forum Racing Season 17

Season 17 of the RaceDepartment Forum Racing Championship has started! With the reigning champion out, will we see James Chant retake his title ? Could we see Linus Brostrom come back with a bang ? Or could we see Hiroshi Awazu doing what he never did last season, win the RaceDepartment Forum Racing Championship!

The Races
The Sprint Race
At random times, I will start races (GO GO GO), and when a race starts you will have to reply in this thread as soon as possible with the word "finish". Whoever says "finish" first wins!

The Feature Race
This race is a little longer, but not so hard. After the start is announced, players must post ‘Start’ as quickly as possible.
Then they must wait for one (1) hour, then post ‘pit’.
Then they must wait for another hour before posting ‘finish’ to end the race.
The first person to post ‘start’ will receive 3 points as a “pole bonus”. Those pitting/finishing too early (before the hour have passed) will be handed a penalty of 1 hour added to their finishing time per each minute early they post, unless you post again after the hour has passed. If your finishing time exceeds the time of the finish of the race, in which case you will be DQ’ed.

Safety Car Rule
During the first 2 hours of a Feature Race, Safety Cars can be deployed.
I will show a SC has been deployed by a post on the forum.
During a Safety Car Period, all drivers are allowed to do their next "part" of the race, no matter how much time it has been since their last part. For example, pit or finish the race.
Any driver who starts the race during a Safety Car Period is also allowed to do their next part of the race (pit) during the SC Period however this must be done in a separate post.
A Safety Car Period can last between 1 minute and 59 minutes.
I will post again when the SC has returned to the pits.

PS: Times will be counted in minutes via the 'Forum Clock' displayed at the bottom of each post.

Point Scoring
1st – 25 pts
2nd – 18 pts
3rd – 16 pts
4th – 13 pts
5th – 10 pts
6th – 8 pts
7th – 6 pts
8th – 4 pts
9th – 3 pts
10th – 2 pts
All others who finish – 1 pt
Pole bonus – 3 pts (No pole in sprint races)

I'll be staying with Lotus, a clause in my contract said I can't leave until I win a race... I might be here a while me thinks.

I like the safety car rule, will make it interesting!

I'll stay with Ferrari and hope to have a better season.
