A couple of things that might be useful.
When the quali ends, there's a 60 second countdown before the start of the race. You're placed on the grid automatically, but you can drive around at will, or go into the pits and add fuel, change tires, setup, whatever, in those 60 seconds. There's a go to grid button when in the pits.
When the timer reaches 0, the lights above the track will go from red to green, and we're off, standard stuff.

If you're AFK at the start, you'll remain on the grid and be an obstacle. So... don't be AFK at the start

If you crash, you can try and drive to the pits, fix the car, and continue on. You can also hit escape and go to pits, fix the car, and continue, but you'll lose a lap that way.

Three is too small a number still, so this won't be happening as well.

Gonna try one more event next week.

I like all except FTarget and KS2 - too fast for me

Favorites F1600 and Vintage I think.
