New(ish) to Racer and looking for advice

It’s been many moons and pc’s since I played Racer so I’m going to install the latest version and I’d like to know what tracks and cars I can start with for the best experience. I don’t mind spending some time tweaking things to get them to work but I don’t want to spend days getting this sim to work. So not knowing the ins and outs of Racer I might find it’s not for me but I want to give it a try so any tips to get it up and running would be appreciated.
My PC Specs:
Win 7 Pro 32-bit – i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz – 4GB DDR3 RAM – GTX 560Ti – ASRock P67 PRO3 (B3) – Westinghouse L2410NM LCD @ 1920 x 1200 – Obutto Cockpit – G27 – Buttkicker BKA 300

The Default Lamborghini is pretty good and also the default track, I would recommend starting with v0.8.36

To get cars for the CG version (the one you are playing) you will need a CG car. You may find these here:
