FM4 My cars in real life .....

Forza Motorsport 4 (Turn 10 Studios)
Reading comments from Paulo, Tom and Peter about their real life cars got me thinking about mine. Learnt to drive in a Morris 1000 and a Rover 2000 TC. I am a child of the 60's.
Then in work drove a mini van, then various VW Polos, followed by
Audi 80 - first speeding ticket
VW Passat Estate
Peugeot 406 Estate written off by a drugged up driver. 'Luckily' no one was in it at the time.
Volvo D5 current

Have also driven but not owned
VW Golf GTi
Audi A3
Peugeot 306 GTi around Corsica - that was on hols and an experience
MG saloon and single seater race car around Pembrey racetrack during a driving experience thingy.

The wife's
Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Nissan Micra

Needless to say very few of these in sim racing games. Would like to see a Volvo T5 or D5 in it. Could play at being a policeman, great for putting people to rights in online races.

My very first car when I got my license at 16 was an '86 Ford Escort.

After that I had a Toyota Camry, and then an Alfa Romeo 164 (loved that one!). Had a lapse in car ownership while I was at school then got myself a beat-up little MR-2. When I lived in LA I drove an RX-7 for three years and then went without a car when I moved to England (though i had one of those 2-wheel thingies - a cbr-125) for several years until I got my current A4 from fleabay a few years ago.

My first car was n all white Opel Manta, I loved it, then I had my Grandads triumph dolomite when he stopped driving, it was the Old K reg (black plates) classic, in green, it used to rock when reved at lights :)
Numerous boring cars later apart from my black D reg XR2, recent cars:- Civic 2.2 cdti (type R wasn't out when I had it) then had blue Rx8, I loved it but Mrs not keen so changed to current car, Focus ST3 in red, had the wheels blacked, looks the buis, looking to change maybe midyear poss RS or Evo 10 (always said I was going to get one oneday....before I get to old!!) :)

Well I learned to drive in my dad's Audi 80 2.0. So learned to drive in style for sure.
After that I checked insurances for my own car and that was way of the charts so rather went for a 2 wheeler.
Bought me a Cagiva Mito 125cc 2-stroke. That I fitted with a racing exhaust and all limiters off. Had 10 good years on that one It was a true racer :D Especially once I fitted a 165cc cylinder on it.:D
After a year or 5 owning the Cagiva I bought my first car a VW Polo 1.4 mpi in flash-red.But only had that car for about a year as someone just didn't break and shortened my rear-end with about 50cm's:( The end of the polo. So went out and found exactly the same one but in black and since 2000 I'm still driving that one.
In the meantime the Caviga has been replaced by a KTM Duke 125.

Well then, I'm from 60's aswell.
My first driving experience was at 10 y.o. with my father's yellow with a black stripe on each side of the car, Ford Cortina Lotus.

That's it folks.

Well only being 24 my list is preitty short and less exciting as most on here but here goes

Learnt to drive in a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2. First car was my mums old 2000 plate Vauxhall Corsa Envoy 1.0 3cyl loved it but was hit by a boy racer after a month of driving. Got robbed by my insurers so ended up with another corsa S plated 1.2 SXI that died of chocolate milkshake in engine (massive head failure) then bought a 2001 reg 1.2 Renault Clio Sport, brilliant car, quick for its size but the died of jelousy (nitromorse on every panel) so i then bought another 2003 reg Vauxhall Corsa, that died of Vauxhallitis and fell to bits like it had lepracy! So i then bought a 2005 Reg Vauxhall Astra Bertone Cab 1.8 stunning car had it a while but distraction from a text ended that cars life into the back of a Taxi so i then bought myself a 2002 BMW 318ti Compact but it had been around the moon and back and eventually began to fall to bits so sold that to the criminals at webuyanycar!! And bought a 2003 Mazda 6 1.8 TS, didnt have this one long as i swapped it with my sister for my current car 2003 Renault Clio 1.6 Dynamique!! It rattles but its quick and i love it!!!

I would love an RX7/8 Nissan silvia S15 and a few others but tax and fuel is just ridiculous!!

Learned to drive in a red Vauxhall Nova 1.1L back in 1988. Passed my test 1st time (it was a big help for the job I was doing at the time as allowed me to get out and about on my own - I was employed by a private family firm fitting carphones and installing/repairing Toshiba fax machines). Daft to think how big the phones were back in 1988/89, lol.

Was allowed to take either of our work vehicles home (and had to log private mileage). It was either a white Ford Fiesta 1.8D or a blue Fiat Regatta 1.6i estate. They were happy days. Often opted for the Regatta. Had some Pirelli sport tyres on was FWD and was a blast. Was also a bonus for those quieter moments with the opposite sex, lol.

Left that job in 1990 and started at my Local Authority (where I am still today, lol). Moved on to a red Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 hatchback. Basically ran that in to the ground and then decided that as I didn't live far from work and was on a bus route, the bus became my main mode of transport to and from work. Had a few beat up runabouts to tide me over - Ford Granada 2.0, Ford Sierra 1.6 and Vauxhall Astra 1.6. Currently am car-less and still commute by bus to and from work. Will occasionally nip and borrow my dad's Volkswagen Passat 1.9TDi if and when a car journey is required (if he's not using it, lol) but have gotten used to life without the need for a car.

I think the quickest I've ever driven was when I took my pal's Ford Sierra RS Cosworth for a spin up to Leeds on the M1 and had it doing around 125mph.

Now just settle getting behind the wheel on FM4, GT5, iRacing, project CARS etc.

:D

Very nice guys, I've had a few over my time started off with a little red fiesta then a black fiesta then a black clio with white alloys then moved to an mg zs then to an audi A4 then back to a clio 2litre cup edition ( wee rocket ship :) ) then move to an 1.8 vectra and then to my present ford focus st, you can see in my avatar (love it :D )

Must stick on a few photo's when I get a mo....
