Today I'm starting new topic about my work...
Few days ago I bought Logitech G27 & Thrustmaster F1 Ferrari addon (my old wheel - Thrustmaster F430 i'm giving to my friend).
I also bought Quick release mechanism for my future project...

After this, I will have two option (to play with F1 wheel, or GT wheel)

Now lets talk about Displays...
At this moment, best option for F1 wheel is SIM Race F1 Display, which is already available now (Other displays is not available yet, as I know)

I decied to add Toggle Switches on USB cable and Power cable. I need advices how to add tham...

it's easy on Power cable, it contains only two conductors (+ & -), I can cut one of them and add Toggle Switch...

but on USB it's more difficult, because it contains 4 conductors... must I cut all of tham and add 4PDT Toggle Switch, like this?

I found diagrams of USB...

If i will cut only red line, or red and black, will it works correctly? I mean, if I will stay "data lines" connected, will it heart to my G27?

1 is it possible to use different set of LEDs ( simple ones from eBay ) and connect them somehow to those in g27 wheel?
2. Where I can find f1 wheel mode like that on pics above that I could connect to g27 with minimum DIY ?

Don't be affraid...
Just cutting the red wire will "switch" the device in off state...
Might get a small (0,5 meter) USB extension and cut it there.
So you keep the original wire intact.

Hi David

What changes / additions did you need to make to the wiring so that the G27 detected the button presses on the Thrustmaster F1 wheel? Or does it all hook into the display?

I'm about to undertake this same project.
