This is not the final version of the rules so expect a few changes before the season commences. 1. Introduction: Welcome to the F1 2011 PC Championship Rules and Regulations! This document has been adapted from the Racedepartment Rules and Regulations to suit F1 2011 for the PC. In this document you can find and read the basic rules of the F1 2011 PC Championship. Every driver is expected to have read and agreed upon these rules, because they safeguard the quality and driving standard of the competitions, which comes to everyone’s benefit. We have tried to provide a clear and relatively short set of rules that still cover most of the situations the staff, teams and drivers can get involved in. If a situation is not covered by the championship regulations the staff decides how it must be dealt with. They have the last word in all matters concerning the championship Please respect these rules under all circumstances!!! 1.1 Starting Time: World Championship Due to the length of the race doubling from last year we will now start at 18:00GMT (London, GBR) there will be a grace period of 10 minutes after this time for any noshows. To aviod delays everyone should be online 15 minutes before the start of qualifying to avoid any problems, if you believe you may be delayed by longer than the 10 minutes then a message 24 hours before the race should be posted in your group thread for the relevant race so that it gives the host and all players notice that it may be starting later, putting this message up on the forums by no means has to be accepted and the session may start at the arranged time we will leave it up to everyone in the group to accept this by replying on the forums this must be completed 1 hour before qualifying starts and a majority vote to accept the latecomer. If you do need to start late then it will be no later than 18:30GMT (London, GBR). If during the lobby time and during the loading process someone disconnects, then "ONE" restart is permitted, but not more. As soon as the loading into the qualifying session has finished, NO restarts are permitted any more. Also if someone disconnects from a qualifying session that they are NOT to be reinvited or the starting grid will be random at race start. We kindly ask all hosts to act according to the rules and regulations, and to not make any exception. We hope that with introducing the 10 minutes extra time window, which now puts the hosts more in charge of the matter, we can counteract these situations. One thing is sure though, no host will deliberately leave you out of a race, and we will not accept any accusations like these. Please take into account that not every clock shows the exact same time, that is why we introduced the rule that drivers should be in the lobby 15 minutes before the race. In the end we cannot restart the game and no penalties can be given. We will be on that teamspeak channel from 18:45 GMT (London, GBR) until the races are about to start. The more drivers join this procedure, the more we can prevent situations that have come up in the past. Certainly the moderators will be online, and at least all the hosts of the races should be online too. But as stated before, if all drivers could join on that TS3 channel before the race, the situation would be perfect. As soon as the race starts, drivers can certainly close down the TS3 connection to get the peace and quiet for all the concentration they need for the qualifying and race 2. Definitions: • RaceDepartment (RD): The organisational body and host is located at www.racedepartment.comand sub-sites. • Staff: The group of persons organising the championship for the RaceDepartment. Official List of race stewards: Andrew Bortz (Andrew Bortz) Michael Brown (LITE992) Ermanno Carofiglio (Italianred) Dan Wootton (BalanceMe23) Zoltan Hadadi (Zomacher) Championship Moderators: Andrew Bortz (Andrew Bortz) • Driver: The person that drives in the RaceDepartment championship, either male or female (regardless of sex-related references). • Livery: The ‘paint job’ of that car. Also referred to as ‘skin’. • Server: This can either refer to the computer that is used to host the events, or to the room that is launched by the dedicated server software, which the drivers can join. Usually it refers to the latter. • Chatting: This refers to the use of the in-game chat function which drivers can use to send text messages to each other. • Cutting: This refers to a driver taking a shorter line through a corner by moving his car off the track. • Apex: This is the point in a corner where the ideal racing line meets the inside of the track. • Kers Currently the regulations permit the systems to convey a maximum of 60kw (approximately 80bhp), while the storage capacity is limited to 400 kilojoules. This means that the 80bhp is available for anything up to 6.67s per laps, which can be released either all in one go, or at different points around the circuit. Lap time benefits range from approximately 0.1 to 0.4s. •DRS Stands for (Drag Reduction System). A slot in the rear wing that opens to reduce the drag and gain more acceleration and top speed. DRS may be used as much as you want in qualifying but may only be used in 1 or 2 places (depending on the track) in the race. The system uses an detection point on the track to measure if you are 1 second or under from the car ahead (be it someone your racing or a backmarker) if you are under then you may use DRS on the activations point(s) for that lap.

Welcome to the Racedepartment F1 2011 Online Championship This year we want to give you the most realistic experience as possible, meaning that what happens in real life racing will be what we will be aiming for in game. We will be able to achieve this if the game mechanics permit it and we will be looking towards 100% races with no assists. The races won't actually begin until the F1 season starts so this gives us a massive opportunity to get everyone organised into where they should be in terms of pace. We can achieve this over a 19 week period starting 20 weeks before the first race takes place. 1 track per week will have numerous qualifying sessions by authorised room hosts in order to get driver times for each track. By the end of the 19 weeks we will have an accurate overview of where drivers should be. As said before the Races won't start until the first race does in real life and subsequent races will follow the entire season which will be held on the Sunday at 18.00GMT We are also looking for a reporter/reporters to ask some of the more serious questions and various reporting stuff. We are sure a lot of you out there have heard of 'Exhaust Fumes' and although we welcome its more comical nature and hope it continues, we intend to run a more factual e-magazine in parallel. Not all decisions have been made but we wanted to get this message out to you as a little statement of intent. We welcome and respect all suggestions from the community. Signed Andrew Bortz - League Organiser
Will there be the same format with F1 2011 as with F1 2010 with several groups. Its a stupid question I know but just want to know.
Yes depending on how many people sign up and take part through qualifying will determine the number of groups.
Please use the following template below to confirm your interest in joining the championship. The name as Games For Windows Live are used for in game, where as location may be used to determine if there is enough interest to make a specific group for timezones that are hard to cater for. You do not need to provide your location but you will be grouped with EU players, and we promise not to sell on any details . Remember you do need to be a licensed member to participate! "races will follow the entire season which will be held on the Sunday at 19.00 GMT" has Sunday been decided for definite? I would have thought Saturday would be better due to people not having to get up for work Monday morning.
Yes this Championship will run ona Sunday the time isnt definate its quite possible to move it an hour or 2 earlier. A seperate league much like the last one will be set up for the Saturday possibly at a earlier time aswell.
mmm well in that case, have I made a mistake? I put my name down in the other thread. I thought I was signing up for a league. I'm way too slow (slowest so far) in the 2010 leagues & there is no way I'll even have a chance in a World Championship, if its the best 16 racers with pre-qualifying to get in & stuff.
No this just needed a different name, any amount of people may join there will be multiple groups if needed, just this championship will be as close to the real thing as possible, where as the other one has yet to decide on race distance, aids and wether it too will follow the entire season race by race or on a weekly basis.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Damn! Sundays... thats my Sunday afternoon pub sessions out of the window then. Still, I'll be able to do Saturday nights instead now
ok to clear things up as this is quite confusing. This Forum Section right now called "World Championship" is for the 100% Race which will be held on a sunday for definate, this league will be managed by Andrew Bortz. The other league which will be called "Championship" will be either a 50% or 75% depending on the results of the Poll which will be posted at some point once our forum's are setup. Again the Time will be decided by a poll. This league will be managed by me.
Due to limited space avaliable, both championships will be held in this forum. We will do as best as possible to keep it tidy for everyone view, anyone who has signed up take not that there is now a new line in the application to indicate what championship you want to participate in (can be both) Qualification for both groups will be done in the same sessions so any times you do will count for both events.
