It is strange that you find my concern of favouritism offensive? But as a clear regular of sim racing, at what point was I consulted as to what I would prefer? Or for that matter, when has anyone been consulted as to what they would prefer? Sure, people have made comments on the matter, but I don't remember there being any real vote as to preference in retake to assists. Your decision and request to bram has been taken without prior concent is clear cause for the claim of favouritism... In Regard to autogears slowing you down, I refer back to my initial argument that I well practiced driver that doesn't use tc is faster than someone that does. Why then should we use autogears if it isn't preference. If your concerned about the number of drivers, surely you should stick to assist enabled racing which has a proven record of bringing in the numbers, again rather than switching to your some assists allowed (the ones I choose) racing.

Guy In answer, There is a significant body of people who want a no assist league so we are doing one.
I read the whole thread on 2011 ideas before doing anything. Including your post of 4 weeks ago which I copy below. In doing so took all posts into consideration.
"I think it should be a full season for the same reasons as chris, some people are better at certain tracks, It would be unfair to cut them. I do think we should keep tc and auto gears on. abs should be off though as flat spotting your tyres might play more of a role with these pirellis. If we have loads of applicants there should be a trail for new drivers to see who gets to be in group 1. "
You asked for auto to be in! this is more than consent its a request mate.
    Now its favouritism?

If someone wants to use auto whats the harm?
Now please answer my questions to you from my previous post.

This thread is taken completely out of context and I find it laughable that you refer to it as some sort of witness statement- I believe I also mentioned tc? I thought we all talking about assists being allowed and I lot of people also made simular comments. Again, if we are having a no assist league let's keep it that way, but completely that way.In fact this is more evidence that you went through the posts and then decided (for all of us) which comments you prefered and which ones you didn't. Either let everyone lfficially vote on the matter or All or nothing. It has to be that way.

Gents we have Brams response to our message:

    [h=2]Re: Xbox F1 2011 RDWDC-Plans[/h]
    Hi there,

Actually having no assists in a league is exactly what RD is :) At least outiside of the Codemasters games we support. F1 2010 and F1 2011 are not really sim racing games compared to other titles and for some reason having assists on makes you faster than driving without them.

So kudos to the WDC drivers if they all drive without. Autogears we always allow for those who need it (handicapt drivers for example cannot manually shift most of the times).

Have fun in the next season and dont forget to send us news reports / press releases and such to put on the frontpage which will give you even more exposure :)

    Have a great weekend!

    Regards,
    Bram

Gents time is coming for some key decisions:
Next week when Richard is back, Dylan Richard and myself will organise a vote on:
    1) Number of races in the Calendar.
    2) Race Distance
    3) Points system

We can then get into the nitty gritty of posting all info.
Further discussion is invited on other key areas, some of which will be best done after we play the game.

I am really looking forward to it aswell.

Andrew if you are using a pad, very lightly press the trigger coming out of the corners, and wait till your steering wheel is about centre to avoid spinning.

Guy if you want to have any dialogue with me please answer my questions.

    Who is being favoured?
Whose driving style is being catered for?
Who is picking and chosing assists to fit their current driving style?

    David,

Yourself, Richard and I also at some point get around to writing the Long introduction page etc. We can usealot of what the PC league has got to be honest but adapt it to our liking. Also, when we have a race, for the first post i am going to copy and paste a picture of the track(From the F1 site) and write a little bit about the track. This makes it seem more friendly to drivers and makes us look more professional :)

    For Example:

Track maps courtesy of FIA website

The Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit is a street circuit around Albert Park Lake, only a few kilometres south of central Melbourne. It is used annually as a racetrack for the Australian Grand Prix and associated support races.

The circuit uses everyday sections of road that circle Albert Park Lake, a small man-made lake just south of the Central Business District of Melbourne. The road sections that are used were rebuilt prior to the inaugural event in 1996 to ensure consistency and smoothness. As a result, compared to other circuits that are held on public roads, the Albert Park track has quite a smooth surface. Before 2007 there existed only a few other places on the Formula 1 calendar with a body of water close to the track. Most of the new tracks, such as Valencia, Singapore and Abu Dhabi have imitated that feature.
The course is considered to be quite fast and relatively easy to drive, drivers having commented that the consistent placement of corners allows them to easily learn the circuit and achieve competitive times. However, the flat terrain around the lake, coupled with a track design that features few true straights, means that the track is not conducive to overtaking or easy spectating unless in possession of a grandstand seat.

Each year, most of the trackside fencing, pedestrian overpasses, grandstands and other motorsport infrastructure are erected approximately a month prior to the Grand Prix weekend and removed within 6 weeks after the event. Land around the circuit (including a large aquatic centre, a golf course, a Lakeside Stadium, some restaurants and rowing boathouses) has restricted access during the grand prix weekend. Dissent is still prevalent among nearby local residents and some still maintain a silent protest against the event. Nevertheless, the event is reasonably popular in Melbourne and Australia (with a large European population and a general interest in motorsport).Middle Park, the home of South Melbourne FC was demolished in 1994 due to expansion at Albert Park.
On 4 July 2008, the official F1 site reported that more than 300,000 people attended the four-day Melbourne Grand Prix, though actual ticket sales were later disputed by the local media. The Grand Prix will continue until at least 2015 after securing a new contract with Formula OneManagement. There will be no night races in Albert Park but 2009’s event started at 5pm and took place between 26–29 March.
Albert Park also has the distinction of being the only venue to hold the Australian Grand Prix in both World Championship and non-World Championship formats. Prior to the 1996 Australian Grand Prix, an earlier configuration of the current circuit was used for both the 1953 and1956 Australian Grands Prix. During this time Albert Park actually ran anti-clockwise as opposed to the current GP circuit which runs clockwise.

This track has a total length of 5.303 km (3.30 mi) which includes 16 turns. The lap record was set by seven time World Champion Michael Schumacher in 2004when he was at Ferrari, setting a incredible 1:24.125.

Then could come the information about how many laps there are, confirmed drivers, hosts etc.

david (i know the question was ment for guy but heres my view)

whos being favoured? in my eyes no one is being favoured, were sticking to rd rules and on the plus side the majority of ppl in the 2010 league wanted a no assists championship

Whose driving style is being catered for? No ones driving style as we all have different styles of driving

Who is picking and chosing assists to fit their current driving style?
Hopefully no one. if auto gears is allowed i would use it as im rubbish at manual

as mentioned above i know the question was aimed at guy but these are my views based on the questions

I have made myself quite clear so let's not feign ignorance David. You have set the rules how you wanted them, of that there is no doubt. It's amusing that even now you move the attention to me rather answering the indirect questions I raised previously. Why won't you commit to a vote on the matter?... If you don't commit to a vote, or a full/ no assist league format I will be proven right in everything I have said.

I'm posting my opinion on what I want:
    1) Number of races in the Calender.
I prefer all 19 races but your WORST 4 or 5 results DON'T count.
    2) Race Distance.
50% race distance. 75% may be possible but not likely for me.
    3) Points System.
Why not use the points system from the Official F1 2011 season? It makes sense doesn't it?
