A couple years ago I mentioned Albatross3D at the forum. Pierre has made a DOF export plugin that works fine, and the latest release seems stable and pretty mature. Well worth a try! Only the Windows version is being actively developed, though there are some old Linux and BeOS(!) binaries there too (without DOF export, maybe one can try the one from a later release, I don't know, have not tried it). It also works with wine on Ubuntu 12.04LTS. Just tried it and can verify that it runs smooth and remains stable throughout editing. DOF export works fine. not sure...i was looking for a x64 version, downloaded and works...i can't find a version info...only 0.0.0.0.....
Tried it again at work, and there it does not crash. The fault must be with my setup on my home computer. I'll try again.
It is installed by default. Just choose File -> Export -> Export to dof(s) There is no import, as already mentioned. (se earlier post)
If there are other import formats available then .dof's can be converted to an acceptable format with Z-Mod and imported.
Dof's can be converted with Z-Mod, I've done a lot of them when fixing old cars/tracks and importing them to Blender. Should work with Albatross.
