Our next Rally is open for sign-up.

It’s time for a break from the recent pressure of Championships and individual Rallys, and to revisit our friendly TEAM CHALLENGE again. We ran this Event earlier this year, with the Oceania Team taking the win. Now, the Europeans look much stronger, and will be ready for revenge. :peace:

To help balance the expected entry numbers, we have recruited our American allies to join the Oceania Team. :drink:

We will be driving Group N cars which are well matched and quite stable to drive.

The Stages cover a wide range of road surfaces and countries, to make it a varied challenge. The weather and daylight will also vary, to add to the challenges.

We have included the “Alpes” (BTB Stages 5) in SS08, so that we can test this Stage. Rick is planning to use this one in the next Season RDRC, so this will be your chance to test it out. Beware of the automatic tyre selection for this Stage, it is Dry Tarmac, not Snow which the game gives you.

The Team Challenge: This is mainly a fun Team Challenge to add some interest (and bragging rights). Drivers must nominate for their Team based on their Country (not which timezone Rally they join).
Points will be allocated based on finishing positions in each Stage, plus bonus points for the Overall Result.

Points: (dependent on the size of the grid). Example based on 15 drivers:
P1 = 15 points, P2 = 14 pts, P3 = 13 pts, etc. No points if you don’t finish the Stage.
The same bonus points apply for the overall Rally position.

All drivers score points for their Team, even if one Team has more drivers (the bigger the Team, the better its chances).
However, we hope that we can end up with closely balanced Team numbers, even if a driver or two decides to join the opposition to help out.

Highest points Team is the winner. :trophy:

Here is a link to our first TEAM CHALLENGE, so you can see how it all works:

If requests are made for any additional timezones, or changes to Start times to better suit your local needs, we will try to include them ( but within the Monday/Tuesday periods).

Don’t forget to save any interesting Replays and send them to Senad for a possible movie of the Rally.

Good luck all, and hope we see a good roll up. :rally:

Oooooh, fantastic idea. Picking a team is not an easy choice, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to team up with Senad in an N4 car and try to defend Euro honor ;).

Lukasz Demolin (Maggot666PL) - EU TZ / Senad's team

My own keyboard strikes and won't let me spell my name properly :p

Oscar Hardwick (oscarhardwick) EU Ford Escort Cosworth / NordicUK

(please note this is dependant on my wheel returning to me this weekend which has a 50/50 chance of happening so plop me on the list as a maybe)

BTW, are you SURE the Alps are snow?;)

Hmmmnnnn!!! Maybe not then. When I did the test run, RSRBR selected Snow tyres, but the road looked like wet or icy tarmac. The surrounding area looked like very light snow.

What is it ???? What is the correct tyre choice?

I'll remove my comment in the signup story, just in case I am misleading anyone.

It looks like we need some support from the OC boys. So here I am.

Rick Bamford (Lucifer) Warrens's team.

BTW, are you SURE the Alps are snow?;)

100% is a Tarmac stage, I tested for the first time with snow tires and slicks and dry tires are actually better. I would love to see it like a Monte Carlo mode, with ice and tarmac :). Anyway a beautifull stage, almost perfect, except the ability to climb the mountains :). I like Ken Block part :) .

LOL, I say wet tarmac tyres.

I hope you realize you're taking out all of my fun in the Championship for next year, I'm gonna have to team it up with some real tricky stages;)

I thought you wanted us to test some of these BTB Stages in the Club to avoid unknown problems???

BTW, I just tested the Alpes with dry tarmac tyres and it gripped very well (too well to be realistic IMO), so I guess this is a dry Tarmac stage.

I'd recommend all drivers not accept the RSRBR2010 tyre selection for this Stage. It is clearly wrong.
