Pirelli leaves WRC

Pirelli won't participate in the World Rally Championship after this year. Instead, the Italian tyre manufacturer will concantrate on Formula 1.

But even after Pirelli's F1 move, the majority was expecting them to remain in WRC. There were some rumors going on at latest weeks but there wasn't an official confirmation. And at last, Pirelli announced it's final decision. Now they are leaving WRC after a three years of being the sole tyre supplier.

Actually Pirelli had offered a three years deal to FIA earlier but they were rejected. And after the announcement of radical rule changes in WRC, Pirelli thinks the competition isn't suitable for them anymore.

However, Pirelli will continue

Twisting In The Spotlight

More attention has been focused on the front wing of the Red Bull F1 car after Sebastian Vettel's crash at Spa. Questions have been asked about how the wing behaved coming out of Buttons slipstream.
Looking at the replays, it's quite obvious the Vettel was a passenger, as the car was out of control when it hit Button. In Vettel's words, "I lost the car going over the bump as I was braking and unfortunately hit Jenson."
This is almost a repeat of the words he uttered after hitting Webber in

Austin Formula One track layout unveiled

The draft layout for the upcoming F1 track in Austin, Texas has been revealed.

It would appear that Tavo Hellmund was right about the circuit paying tribute to some of the world's best ractracks. Looking at the layout, which runs anti-clockwise, one can see corners resembling the Becketts complex at Silverstone and Turn 8 at Istanbul. Hellmund says the cars will reach 200mph on the back straight, while the total elevation change is 133 feet (~40m).

The track will be designed by Hermann Tilke's company, as has been the case with all new F1 track designs or modifications since 1997 (with the exception of the Arena Section at Silverstone, which was designed by track-designing firm Populous). Construction is planned to begin
