Thank you for awesome work, man this is just perfect. 10 stars from me. Driving with G27 is now where it should be, thanks to you. My LUT test was detailed, but very simple. Driving pCars2 and RaceRoom Nordschleife (favourite GT3 and road cars) - then go in Assetto with same cars ... just NO GO. Then switched to your LUT settings (recom. - 50% FFB) and entire new FFB world opened. No FFBclip app needed anymore . Thanks again from me and my G27.

Thanks for the review! :) I know what you mean! pCars and RaceRoom are better at getting rid of the deadzone than AC without a LUT!
Glad that you can now discover the world of AC again :)
Thanks a lot, i had lost hope .. I rediscover my G25 !

I know how it feels to lose hope with the Logitech wheels.. Glad I could help you to get back the fun of it :)
Feeling is great, but is there anything I can do about my wheel rattling / shaking at low speeds? (G29) it's especially noticable if I had a spin out or going out of the pit. This is my first wheel so maybe I'm not used to the noise it makes? The noise do limit when i can actually use the wheel though.

Thanks for the upload and this guide, was easy to set up :)

Thanks for the review! :)
Your problem might be the "slips" and "abs" slider in the force Feedback settings. Go on track and activate the ffb app (mouse to the very right, wheel icon). Put slips, kerbs, road, abs to zero and check if it's gone. They are meant to give you additional feedback you would normally get from just driving the car in reality.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help others setup their logitech wheels. I got to the point where I thought I'd never find a good setup with Assetto Corsa

Thanks for the nice words! :)
I was at the same point... So worth it to dig deeper and come up with this.
Happy to see others becoming happy too :)
This is really excellent ! But what i wonder what is the most versatile LUT of all to improve the feeling in all types of cars with my G25 ? And did i have to lower the gain in the profiler or the game settings ?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Hi, thanks for the review :)
Definitely pick the recommended, "NoClipButStronger" one. Profiler to 100, ac menu to 50% and in-car to your liking between 80-130% (numpad +/-)!
I'm using this since a few month. I highly recommend it for all G27 owner.

Thanks for taking the time to write that review :)
No matter of the amount, every single one matters for me!
D
This has completely transformed my G29 in Assetto Corsa! Gone is the deadzone and vague feeling, replaced instead with a solid, responsive experience thanks to the "recommended" LUT. Thanks for sharing the results of your determined research for all our benefit!

Thank you for the nice review. It really makes me happy when reading these words :)
PS: I saw the post in the support thread. I'll come back to you today!
Awesome & thorough guide, the ffb is quite noticeably better on my g29.
One question, I'm using the recommended lut setting, 50% ffb ingame, but the ffb clip app suggests values way over 100% that way, I've bypassed it for the time being. Should I trust it's recommended setting or am I not supposed to be using it?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the kind review :)
I found that the ffb is better with a lower ingame setting and then boosting it back up with the LUT. But ffb clip or the clipping bar in the pedals app don't see that so they think your gain is too low. Just ignore it and use numpad plus and minus to adjust the per car gain to your liking :)
Please, help me. I've followed the guide and everything worked perfectly, my g27 became a totally different wheel with very good ffb. But, after that assetto corsa gave me a "version mismatch" error and sort of a reset, my "ff_postprocess" file in Documents/AssettoCorsa/cfg continues to reset every time I start the game. I modify the file as written in the guide, I save, and it remain that way any time until I start the game. After I have started it, it changes back to standard and in fact the ffb is really bad. Can you help me sorting this out? I'm going crazy. "ff_process" in Drive/SteamLibrary/Common/AssettoCorsa/cfg is setted proparly and doesn't change, but it looks like this is ignored while the one in Documents is resetted continusly and used.

Thanks for the Stars! :)
For the issue please read the quote in the support thread but a short answer here: There is no obvious explanation but I had the same problem when using content manager. Do you use it or do you use the standard launcher?
Good tutrorial with a lot of info. Although I think everyone should generate his own LUT because every wheel is different (especially Logiteh) .

Does anyone know what exastly DAMPER_GAIN does in assetto_corsa.ini?

I spent some time looking for explanation, and just found different values recommended (usually 0.0 or 1.0) ?
In comments it says it should be changed to 0 for G920, but how about G27/G29 for instance since it's FFB is so simmilar?

Also while most people recommend Damper Effects strenth to 0 in Logitech Profiler some say it's better to set it to 70-100%?
RasmusP
RasmusP
The damper only affects the generic resistance while the low speed ffb kicks in so you'll have the feeling of scrubbing tyres like on a real car.
I like to have this light wheel though as I only do online racing and it makes life a bit easier to be able to spin the wheel freely while being in the pits/start/after spin. Just put it to whatever you want really :)

To the own LUT: I agree and disagree at the same time. Until today no one with a logitech wheel had to adjust my luts. The overall specs are really similar no matter the wear.
Did you try my LUT and if you adjusted something: please share the info in the support thread with your LUT :)
Premium
My previous config was actually pretty close to this already, this one feels maybe a tad bit softer.
As a test did the Drift King achievement, so I guess it's good enough :D
RasmusP
RasmusP
Did you use a LUT before too or what settings did you use?
Anyway: I guess Driftking will do! :D :D
Thanks for the review! :)
Very good update, even better feeling
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks man! Hope you got the G29 sorted too :)
Awesome tutorial, many thanks! Drifting now is way more fun, gonna try this also in racing.

I wonder if there is any difference on G29 - I think it has bigger deadzone than G27. I'm using your recommended LUT I am experiencing wheel wobble while driving straight when I give it a little touch. Any suggestion about it or it is intended to do so?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the review :)
The wobble is a tradeoff for the tight feeling. Normally it should wobble but stabilize itself after a few shakes (if you just give it a slight notch and don't unsettle the car).
If it's too much you can lower the car specific ffb with numpad minus until it suits you better :)
I've followed the basic instructions and chosen the recommended lut (the one with 50% gain) and the wheel feels nice, def better than my last settings. Clipping it's totally gone while having everything firm and stronger, also I no longer notice the dead ffb center.

I would recommend you to make a youtube video about this last lut that do wonders, it's the go-to place for a lot of people looking for assetto g25-27-29 optimal settings.

Thanks a lot!

RasmusP
Thanks a lot! I'll look into doing a tutorial video over my next holidays! :)
I didn't know my G27 has that much force :D
It is much stronger than my old settings, but still doesn't clip.
When driving, the FFGClip app increases the gain to 180%, that seems a bit strange. Am I doing something wrong or is it supposed to be that way?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Glad that you like it :)
My ffb clip app goes above 100% too sometimes but after some heavy work on the wheel it goes down to about 90-135 depending on the car.
The clue here is that ffbclip takes the output of AC before my lut amplifies it. I use the lowest profile in ffb clip without any clipping and the values are fitting :)
I created the lut to take the ac game internal clipping out of the equation so you can just set whatever car specific gain you want and concentrate on the level that feels good and not bother with clipping!
You goddamn LEGEND. I tried what seems like everything trying to get the FFB feeling right with the DFGT...then I came and plugged in your DFGT LUT file and bang....here's the game people were talking about.

A thousand thank yous!!
RasmusP
RasmusP
Wow, thanks for this review!
Merry Christmas to you and good fun in AC :)
5stars+1 extra star for included LUT files lol. Love thiese settings!!! I like to drift for fun and these settings made it even more fun. In drifting the feel of the cars grip is essential and your settings (using your recommanded LUT) do excactly that it gives a really good feel of the car. Thnx for sharing :)
RasmusP
RasmusP
Fun fun fun! That's all what matters :D
Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoy your time even more now :)
Superb ... I'm using the "Recommended" version, it improves the car control immensely ... I'm using ffbclip for in car minor adjustments
RasmusP
RasmusP
Cheers man, got your pm too :)
Enjoy the ride and shout if you have any questions!
I had a very loose deadzone at first, felt heavy vibrations when hitting the kerbs etc.
I tried all 3 Luts and the difference is with my initial settings are enormous. Tightcenter you really have to work the wheel, it feels heavy. Normalcenter is what I used most. I'm gonna test the recommended lut more now.

As a result of using these, when I turn there is no delay in turning (--> Deadzone) My G27 feels much better, a real pleasure. My lap times also become much better.
Thanks for the work you put into this.
RasmusP
RasmusP
Happy to get such feedback! :)
If you ever have some questions just ask!
Remember to put the ingame ffb slider to 50% when trying the "recommended" one!
WOW! just used your recommended LUT settings. Now no dead zone. and overall feel of the ffb is amazing compared to what it was like before. Thanks Rasmus ;)
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks man! :)
Hope it gives you some fun while test-driving your phenomenal tracks!
