I didn't want to use 3rd party software to assign actions to the G27 shifter or to the buttons on the wheel. I got that working with F1 2012 & F1 2013 after some testing.
So I created new settings for F1 2014 and decided to share these.
This package has two sets of files. Kind of proof of concept, which ties all actions to the steering wheel and the settings, which I use.
Proof of concept has the following bindings:
Top Left - CAR STATUS Top Right - DRS
Mid Left - Cycle Brakes Mid Right - Cycle tyres
Bot Left - Brake Neutral Bot Right - Cycle Engine
My settings has the following bindings
Top Left - Brake Front Top Right - DRS
Mid Left - Brake Neutral Mid Right - Cycle race modes
Bot Left - Brake Back Bot Right - CAR STATUS
Both have gears 1, 3 & 5 for engine modes, gears 2, 4, 6 and R tied to tyres.
