Ginetta G55 GT4 Supercup 8.2 - FINAL

Totally updated Ginetta Supercup

  1. Shaun Clarke
    Ginetta G55 GT4 Supercup V8

You cannot compare this version to any other version that is / was available, as you will read below.

You will need to delete your Ginetta Supercup folder and do a fresh install.

We listened to your requests, so that you don't have to move / copy the fonts, it's done automatically now, and also there is a version number at the end of the downloaded file.

Ok important stuff out of the way, so what do we have then?

This has been long awaited and been thoroughly worked on as you will read. We have been fortunate to have a team working with us to provide information, and also, what I learnt doing the Seat Leon, I have put this knowledge, and also new knowledge to what I hope is to good use.

So why now V8 you ask.

After all the previous updates, there appeared to be a problem, a big problem with the Windows, which actually turned out to be a 3dmodel issue. We got WACK on the case, and this has now been fixed.

Also, as @After_Midnight explained in the public thread, there was a very big problem with the previous skins, all of them. Due to the Alpha Channel change, there was no windows, so @After_Midnight did all this, to ALL the skins so they not only worked, but re-optimised them.

Obviously ALL CREDITS go to the owners / creators of the skins, and I hope they don't mind, but he has got the skins working again. If you think about this, these skins was created 2yrs ago when the model first came out, so we thought it more productive to have them working now.

So adding this to what we already had to fix, this was not a simple update, this is a complete overhaul to what is already a fantastic model. There was something’s wrong, as you will see below, but first, just for smiles and useless information I thought I would share my scribbles that I made along the way.

Aerodynamics. If this is wrong, then the whole cars handling, you name it, is wrong.
As you can see, the front is too small, the rear diffuser is in the wrong place, and the rear doesn't cover the whole rear of the car.
Pictures tell you everything, no need to explain this one
Also the collider, the point in which the car makes contact with the road.
    Fixed Collider
    collider_fixed_top.jpg collider_fixed_level.jpg
Again, nothing to explain, you can clearly see

There was also the wheels position.

    And Aligned
Again, doesn’t need explaining, but once this was all done, then we could work on everything else.

So what has been changed, what took so long you may ask.

Here is the full change log for V8.0

    New Sounds by Fonsecker
    Fixed and improved Aerodynamics
    Improved Suspension
    Improved Steering
    Improved Tyres
    Fixed Height issues
    Fixed COG and Wheel Alignment
    Changes made to Default Setup
Improved AI (First mod to have V4 of the AI)
    Improved / Centred Flames
    Total upgrade to Dashboard
    Paddles have Animation
Full Damage Model (Front, Rear) no Glass Damage yet.
    Full Camera Update
    Errors corrected
    Colliders Corrected
    LODS redone
    Re-Done Gearing
(These have been scratch made, gear by gear, but I have used the official Ginetta Final Ratio of 3.73, as for some reason AC doesn't like the official gearing from Ginetta. (The original creators of this mod had the same issue) It just bogs down and is to slow in 1,2,3 and to fast in 4,5,6. I have sent a video of me driving to a Ginetta racing driver, and he confirmed, they are spot on, in relation on what gear you are in to what speed you are doing in relation to what corner your taking)
Kunos Brands Hatch Indy was used for testing)

    Windows shader re-done
Car de-badged (as the real car doesn't have the Ginetta badge on the front)
Realistic Brake Fade introduced (you need to warm these things up)

And who do I have to thank for everything that they have done, these amazing people...

Thank you for the nice update. Maybe you can improve the time delay of the LCD display (RPM and speed). As I mentioned already in previous versions I would love the see a better texture for the dashboard considering a grain / structure. (Also the door panels interior) At the moment the dash is simply grey and smooth.

Hi There. Thank you for taking the time to post. We are looking at the time delay.

The dashboard is actually grey and smooth, it's nothing fancy trust me, and the door panels are correct as well. Again nothing fancy there either

    Amazing job!
    You guys absolutely nailed it!
Thank you, thank you very much!
    As others have already mentioned:
Everything is spot on: 3D model, physics, FFB, sound, car description in the car menu, setup, 24 skins for each Ginetta.
Your Ginettas live easily up to Kunos’ standards and then some! Your hard work is very much appreciated!
There is nothing left to wish for in my eyes. The FFB is simply a class of its own. The wheel feels so heavy in a very positive way. It’s something Kunos has been introducing with their newer cars (hard to describe that feeling).
I did a German presentation which I’d like to shar here for other German speakers (It’s not a re-view because I was thrilled to bits from the first meters I drove your Ginettas):

WOW thank you for you very kind works and we are delighted that you really like it.

I will be honest, I love hearing reviews, and I wished I understood German, maybe somebody could translate for me.

But it comments like yours, and everybody else's that has made the time to post that's make it all worth while, as all of us have full time jobs, this is us, having some serious fun and giving to the community what we think, is good content.

Again, thank you and everybody else
