When I install the mod, can I still play my exisiting career? Or should I just install the skins without the names?

Big question :-)
Is it possible to change the Car Specs ? It would be very nice if the cars would be as same as in 2017 Saison. For example Renault beeing in midfield instead of beeing last etc. Thanks for the great mod btw !
