the jumps makes it awful
great for drifting only if the creator removes those ********* jumps
Great potential, good idea. Like others said though:
1. A way to get out of the city, like other environments; the woods, a prarie, etc.
2. less bugs
3. a little less turns,
and 4, something I also thought of, more variety in the buildings, but this one isn't that important yet, you've done a great job. This one is just to make stuff prettier, what we wanted though you are on the way of making, thank you.
Its a great map until land in a funny way from a jump and my car goes into the ground. If you made the map less buggy then it would be amazing all the time.
This map has alot of potential and Idk if your still working on it but I think you should its really great and I cant fine any other maps similar to this
wow just what i needed thanks
Now all we need is a way to get out of the city, maybe a road around it, get in the wood , it would also be nice if the ups and downs wur not there. but it is fun, so Good!!
this is what Assetto Corsa needs (talking for free-roamers) but needs to improve; there is a good potential.
Despite the 3 stars, believe me, I really like your work!
Like the previous poster said, this track has a HUGE potential.
Textures are almost good enough to me...
Only the road itself needs to be seriously smoothed cos it's almost undriveable...
And yeah, some signs, traffic lights...
But it's really a joy to drive in a French city like this...
(despite being French myself... lol)
Please improve it!
It could become one of the best creations for AC! :)

P.S: I had before a similar "track" named simply "Paris city" or something and it was much worse than this one.
Is this track based on the previous "Paris" track?
Anyway it's an improvement in every way possible. :)

thanks for the review. I don't know any previous track named "Paris City". this model was ported from CityEngine.
I think there is a tremendous amount of potential here. I really hope you don't abandon this project. A city driving map could be a lot of fun in A.C. Obviously, there is a lot of work to be done...hence, the v0.1 designation.

If you keep at this project, may I suggest you put some "landmarks" in the city. Like a Police Station. A Library. A Sports Complex. things that are identifiable so people could actually have a purpose in where they are driving to.

You might want to add a bunch of stop signs, street signs. Street lights. Make some streets One-Way. Maybe even have arrows painted on the pavement, like in big cities, so if I'm driving from a side street I know which way traffic is allowed to flow, etc... Take a visual tour of New York City, or San Francisco, or Paris, or London on Google Maps or Google Earth to get some ideas.

Of course there are many other ways you could build this city and they're certainly up to you to decide. Just please don't give up on this project. It's going to be a lot of work, but you'll get those roads smoothed out and the holes/gaps filled in no time.
The graphics are not too great (could use some more details), has visual holes, the road surface feels weirdly smooth and the San Francisco like elevation changes are too low poly and a bit too much for Assetto Corsas physics engine (car dropped through the road sometimes).

But i really, really like this! The idea is awesome and this as a first version of the track is really nice. I tested it with the Oculus Rift DK2 and the scale and atmosphere are very good. NIce to just drive around and relax.

Some ideas:
- Put the whole city on an island landscape or some mountains in the distance, the borders of the city aren't pretty and you can easily fall from down into the pit of bottomness
- Try to reduce some of the extreme elevation changes (or add polygons to the road surface to make the transitions smoother), because they can easily make the cars fly and then fall through the ground
- I'm not a modder, so i don't know how much work this would be, but try to add some noise to the road surface. It feels way to smooth, like driving on glass

Hey, thank you for your reviews. With this mod, primarily, I wanted to see the city in VR with the Oculus Rift. The Esri CityEngine does not support SDK2.
How about AIs that provide some meaningful oncoming traffic? Useful when you're re-creating Claude Lelouch's 'Rendevous' (a film about racing through the almost-deserted streets of Paris by dawn's early light).
An interesting release. I see potential. Graphical & road mesh update, a little more atmosphere with better trees & we could potentially have our 1st Assetto Corsa mini world to drive & explore. Here's a thought, create a 2nd race version different from the explore version, maybe use the outer edge of the world as the Race Track. Here's to hoping you take your time & give us something great :)
