R3E: Zakspeed Capri Announcement & Ross on E-Bay
Back in October 2011 I opened a thread in the GTR 3 forums speculating about the addition of Group 5 cars coming to what at the time was called GTR3. SimBin’s licencing chief Jay Ekkel was hinting in that direction after an interview with RaceRoom.
Our young community member Ross Balfour immediately jumped on this speculation by saying in the first thread comment the now legendary backfiring sentence: “Just because Jay loves Group 5 cars, has nothing to do with them featuring in the game, if they feature I’ll sell myself on ebay”
Soon we will finally see the moment that the Northern Irish sim racer will be up for sale on Ebay as SimBin indeed announced a group 5 car for RaceRoom Racing Experience. The free-to-play game will be enriched with a Zakspeed Capri from the era when touring car racing was all about having huge balls and engines.
We checked with Ross for an official reaction and he commented: “Hahahahahaha. Brilliant. I’ll set up the auction tomorrow.”

"Soon we will finally see the moment that the Northern Irish sim racer will be up for sale on Ebay"
But will anyone bid? :p
Is it going to be a "buy now" auction?
lol….bidding start at @ 1 cent? (whichever currency is the lowest :0)
Haha nice
I’d buy that for a dollar
Hell, these cars scare the bejesus outta me.
Not as much as a man selling himself, brings up all the wrong images!
I want to buy a Ross!
When is the auction going up?
well, I certainly need someone to do a bit of gardening, so gives a link.
on topic: one of my favourite racecars when I was a kid, built the tamyia scale model. This is the first raceroom item I am tempted to buy (once they start putting in peer to peer racing, that is)
droooooool and drooooollls again:inlove:
Plenty of Ross’s to go around folks, don’t panic buy!
Drool all you want over Ross, I’m going for the Capri instead
Want to drive that thing this week!
Still no Ross on Ebay
Yes i could use someone to wash my windows over the weekend
No Ross, but finally a Capri in my garage
Easter will be fun,fun,fun
