Gran Turismo 5: Over 9 million copies sold
Polyphony Digital recently released updated sales numbers of their Gran Turismo franchise. Gran Turismo 5 sold almost 1.7 million units since the list has been last updated at the end of 2011, thus setting the grand total to slightly above 9.000.000 shipped units of the game.
Additionally even the older games like Gran Turismo 4 (PS2), Gran Turismo on PSP and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue – which doesn’t even have online support anymore – continued to show what is a very positive outlook for Tokyo based Polyphony Digital.
Altogether the Gran Turismo series sold almost 68 million copies, making it one of the best-selling game franchises of all time. With Gran Turismo 6 being rumoured already this surely isn’t the end for endurance driver & part time CEO Kazunori Yamauchi and his team in Tokyo.

Enough, I told you to stop derailing threads with this. Warned, next one will be a suspension.
It is amazing really, that after 2 years since it’s initial release that it is still selling well. I think that you will also find that it is still in the top 10 in games charts.
