Peter Szabo wins the RD iRacing Road Series

Securing his first season win Peter Szabo claimed the championship title of the RaceDepartment Road Series. Coming from fourth in the points standings after a disappointing result in Road Atlanta Szabo entered the Indy 100 with a taste for revenge and a realistic chance of grabbing the title. The entire top three prior to the season finale was reported absent for varying reasons. Suzuka winner Nathan Robinson, pole master Max Reed and Laguna winner Yoeri Gijsen all conceded their chances to the hands of Szabo, who crushed them by dominantly winning the Indy 100.

Robinson and Reed still held on to second and third respectively by virtue of their points banked in the first four races of the season. Gijsen was bumped off the podium, being just one point short of it.

The Indy 100 also saw the first podium for Bjorn de Haas and Daz Webb this season, both drivers getting the maximum out of the absence of some the front runners. It brought them thirteenth and sixth place respectively in the season’s final standings.

For now this will the only season RaceDepartment hosts in the RD iRacing Road Series, but drivers are of course welcome to join the RD iRacing Le Mans Series and the iRacing Oval Series that will launch the next couple of weeks!

RaceDepartment congratulates Peter Szabo with his championship. A victory well deserved after a season of solid finishes!
