Mark Webber Stays With Red Bull for 2013
After much speculation this season, it has been confirmed today that British GP winner Mark Webber will in fact stay with Red Bull next year. The Australian has been at the team since 2007 and by staying another year it means that Red Bull are obviously very confident with their current lineup. Sebastian Vettel will also stay next season meaning the lineup has not changed since 2009, making it one of the most stable within the sport.
There was a lot of debate earlier on in the season and in fact last season that maybe it was time for Mark to leave Red Bull but sitting second in the drivers standings and taking 9 victories since he began his career at Red Bull, I think it’s safe to say he has proved all of the doubters wrong.
“Mark has driven very well in the first nine races of this season and his performance has been impressive,” said team boss Christian Horner in an interview for the official F1 website.
So with Mark’s ever impressive form and a confirmed seat at the UK based team next year, the only question that remains is can he maintain this form and win his first ever championship? If he achieved this it would be a third straight Drivers championship for Red Bull and an obvious sign that Webber is at his peak. We will have to wait until the German Grand Prix which sees the drivers return the Hockenheim to see if Webber can make it two wins in a row or overtake Alonso in the standings. But one thing is for sure, with Red Bull putting all their trust in Webber, never write the Australian off!

Lewis Hamilton is out of contract at the end of the season. Will he move to Ferrari then as Mark was named constantly as a possible Massa-replacement?
