Magardichian Dominates, Extends Point Lead at Road America

What a difference just one event can make in RealSimRacing  Endurance Team Series as Bedros Magardichian dominated Road America after his rival Jason Elrod did the same last Month at Mid-Ohio. Magardichian set pole leading every lap and besting second place finisher Joshua Chin by fifteen seconds. Meanwhile, Elrod who started the race only three points behind Magardichian damaged his motor downshifting into turn one. His crew were able to repair the motor but Elrod would make another mistake by running off track at turn four before the Moraine Sweep. That mistake would end his day as his car was non repairable.

The start of race was clean as Magardichian got off to an early three second lead. Newcomer to the series Chin would try to stay close but Magardichian proved to be to strong pulling away lap by lap.  Close to the same gap from first to second Bruce Perry trailed Chin in third. Tom Cabral and Roger Homann would battle all day back in fourth and fifth respectively with Homann finally taking the position during green flag stops. Early incidents in the race involved Chris Beck (Canada Corner) , Bill Fields (Turn 14), Marcus Owens, Anthony Woods, Chris Lewellen and Eric Estes. The uphill and flat turn six would take many victims including Jeff Spotswood, John Abbott and Glenn Petersen.

With Magardichian’s win and Elrod’s misfortune the championships in the individual and team have widened between first and second. Bedros has stretched his lead to 25 points in the individual over Elrod and his team Rote Sau Racing now has a lead of 49 points over Team Castrol. In the individual championship it is very tight battle for third as seven drivers are very close in points. In the team championship there is a three way battle for third between LHS Motorsports, Newcomers and TOOBOOKOO in that order. Several new drivers and five new teams have entered the series.
