Final Call: Support University Research on Computer Games

So far 75 responses have been collected, though 250 are needed. Thank you for everyone who has participated until now! If you have not taken it, doing so will takes less than 6 minutes of your time. The survey will be taken offline Sunday midnight CET.

This research is part of a Master Thesis on why and why not people buy and download AAA computer games from the web. It is conducted for a Dutch University.
In the academic world this topic has received very little attention, and the intention is to show for the first time, how much energy is in the market for digital distribution of computer games. A total of 250 respondents are needed for this survey, and if it turns out to be successful it will open the door for further research in this area.

Thank you in advance for your contribution by filling in this questionnaire and also a big thank you to the Race Department administrators for providing the opportunity to address its members and visitors.

Completed. It’ll be interesting to see the result amidst the rumours of 100% digital distribution of games in the next 5 years.

  2. Matt Horst says:

I probably have 30+ games on my computer right now and maybe one or two games are a disk version.Only problem with digital downloads is it’s to easy to buy games.javascript:grin(‘’)

    Done :whistling:

  4. Petr Kantor says:

    Done.

IMHO poorly chosen questions. Control questions appear on the same page multiple times, and the informational value of the rest is very limited. Wonder what will come out of this.

  5. Chris Hempsall says:

Done the survey, but I’m not sure what the people important to me would think

  6. TDB says:

Cheers everyone who has filled in the survey so far!

Also thanks for your remarks Petr concerning the design.
It was a trade-off of many different elements,
which lead to the way you see it now, though I
can assure there is a purpose to how it is definitely well worth
    it in the end!

So far 60 people have taken part, so a few more would be fantastic
so we can achieve the mark of 250!!

  7. Gary Jibb says:

Done, but aswell I found most of the questions directed to a certain group of people. I understand why, but for someone who does not download games (I like physical copies) I find the questions hard to answer properly, which hopefully do not effect your outcome. Anyways, your welcome

  8. TDB says:

    The survey has been closed.

In the end, 163 people supported this research by filling in the questions. This will be
sufficient for a row of statistical tests to investigate the sentiment and behaviour concerning
the downloading and buying of computer games.

Those of you who had indicated that they were interested in receiving the outcome will receive
a notification via email by the end of August.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in it!!!
