Assetto Corsa: KTM X-Bow R Screenshots
Kunos Simulazioni released another screenshot of their KTM X-Bow R vehicle in Assetto Corsa. This unedited image comes after a period of relative silence as the team has been hard at work developing and testing AC with real life drivers as shown here a few days ago.
On a side note RaceDepartment.com will do an exclusive in-depth preview of Assetto Corsa in August when we will finally have the chance to get our real hands on this virtual simulation software many gamers are so eagerly waiting for. If you want your questions asked feel free to add them below in the comments or in the Assetto Corsa Forums where you can also find more news, discussions, mods & online racing league announcements.
Update:
A whole lot more KTM screenies below

Wow, there’re hundreds of questions you could ask, so I’ll attempt to limit myself to one:
I posted some thoughts in this thread here http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/sound-design-in-assetto-corsa.53195/ in the hope that it might tease out a response from someone at Kunos. Is it possible to bring up this subject with the AC team?
Also, the good old ‘system specs’ question, although I assume you’ll be asking that one anyway
Ok, that was two questions… :whistling:
Looking very nice as always
Oh heres a question:
After release of AC,are we gonna have more laser scanned tracks and lisenced cars or AC will stay with the first package?
I understand that those need money so if community wants more, are we gonna split the amount of money that needed so we can have the tracks and cars we want in the future?
All the quality sim makers should consider conducting polls as to what DLC is most desirable, but it’s a two way street, ie, the sim racers MUST be prepared to pay for the expertise and excellence.
At the level GSC 2012 and rf2 are at, I’m prepared to pay and keep paying for this type of quality.
Looking fantastic as usual. I am prepared to build a new rig for this sim if needs be. I doubt I could do it much justice atm.
Another one or two crossed my mind while I should be working…
Has provision been made for point-to-point tracks, or is it simply circuits?
If full 24 hour days are incorporated, how will the lighting of the circuits from headlights be modelled?
Oh yeah: Please, please, please, please can we have modern day Spa as official content???
I’d be interested to see how this thing handles in the game and how the community reacts. Being a lightweight, completely track focused car you expect a certain thing. Apparently it is very much a tentative, understeering car which has been confirmed by F1 and Rally greats during the Race of Champions as well as numerous reviewers like Fifth Gear, Top Gear, and others.
I know when cars aren’t challenging to drive people often yell that it’s unrealistic.
I know exactly what you mean zehnder.eric.
There are two things to keep in mind:
First of all, professional drivers always complain about handling, it’s their job it’s what they are used to do and what are asked to do, so by trying to get as fast as possible, they usually do not care about the fun factor and just complain whatever makes them go slower.
Secondly, yes the car is a bit understeery on power on exit of the turns, but the “R” version has more power and some modifications on the suspension, so you can help it with gas to drift the rear end out. It’s not faster, but it’s more fun.
We’re going for realism hands down, even if that means some cars might be different from what people expect. We might not be correct and not satisfy everybody, but hey we’re trying to do it properly.
If Kunos should fail (what I desperately don’t wish), you, at least, had the correct attitude.
Depends on you too guys.
Don’t expect a v1.0 sim to have all the bells and whistles and features of sims already in the market for years… I mean even iRacing didn’t have tyre heat and wear at first (don’t worry we will).
We will try to make a very valid, stable and enjoyable base to start with at v1.0 and then slowly grow from there and enhance it more and more. Our to do list is as enormous as everybody’s wildest fantasy, but we’re a small team and it takes time.
If the community will support us, (and if we deserve their support of course), we will be able to make it and improve on it. We’re simmers as you are guys, so we enjoy it and we want the same things. We just need time and support
That’s great to hear! Because only a solid foundation justifies new features and a constant flow of updates. That’s something, what others seem to forget. I wish you guys all the best and I will continue to support Assetto Corsa, as long as it stays true to the ambition of becoming a (next generation) simulator.
Let’s hope assetto Corsa does see continued support and updates (from both the sim communtiy and the developers) and not fall by the wayside in the way that NetKar Pro appeared to.
Is the “panning” present in the screenshots a game feature?
To achieve that in real life you have to use low shutter speeds in the camera while following the car, its a photographic tecnic.
