Elrod’s Win Moves Team Castrol Closer in Championship

The =RSR= Endurance Team Series moved to Mid-Ohio for the sixth race of the eleven race schedule. Team Castrol driver Jason Elrod continued his hot streak of late, winning his third race in a row. Elrod started from the pole and was able to pull away from rival Bedros Magardichian to open a large gap. LHS Motorsports driver Bill Fields running third found trouble in the turn 12 carousel on lap two. New series driver Eric Estes reacted to Field’s spin with a little too much brake and spun himself. Chris Beck and Glenn Petersen battled hard for sixth until Beck spun over the hill of turn five and ended up in China Beach gravel trap on lap seven. Also newcomer Emil Duna retired from event on lap seven.

Roger Homman having a nice race in sixth, found trouble in turn eleven running through the grass and bumping the tire barrier giving the position to Fields. Halfway through the event , Magardichian found trouble with the curb in turn one and spun through the grass. He retained the position but Bruce Perry pulled right up to his bumper in third. Pit stops started middle part of race with leader Elrod being one of the first leaders to pit. He exited the pits behind Magardichian and Perry who had not pitted. Elrod and Magardichian battled hard until the latter was forced to pit on lap 30 relinquishing the lead back to Elrod.

Magardichian exited the pits behind Perry and the two battled hard for the next several laps until Perry blew the keyhole turn and Magardichian took second position. Perry would remain in third with Team Castrol driver John Abbott in fourth and Fields rebounding for a top five.

It’s a two horse race in the driver’s championship, with Magardichian leading and Elrod only three points behind. In the team championship , Team Castrol moved within 23 points of leader Rote Sau Racing. The series moves to Road America next month and will be a broadcast event. Details will be announced at a later date.

    Nice write-up!

Glad to see sim-racing league news posted on the front page. Thought that type of thing was blasphemy around here, but hey, people change.

League news were always on front page, just changed the organisation a bit, the Online racing was always there and in fact we removed the exclusive sidebar for them now

I see other big well known simracing websites and I don’t see any league news on frontpage, do you?

      • Keith Barrick says:

It’s great to see that the simracing news is now part of the “breaking news” and not just in its own tab. That’s what Danny was referring too I believe. It was always said that breaking news was not for sim racing league news, but as danny said I guess things change.

Best of luck to RSR it’s a very profesaional Lookin league.

On a side note why am I blocked from using the forums? I havent broken any rules, and have supported rd since it opened, including donating regularly. Can an admin comment?

Oh I see, but like he said that was “blasphemy” here, and “people change” considering we are the only big site with any kind of league news in frontpage, I found that comment a bit weird. What does he think from other sites then?

EDIT: Oh! I forgot, you are not banned, what message you are getting?

Anyway you violated the rules when you downloaded a lot of our forum content and created an illegal mirror open to read somewhere else, I think that’s not even legal, but nevermind.
