Online Racing Championship – Sixteen New Screenshots
Ash McConnell released sixteen new screenshots of his work in progress project Online Racing Championship showing Formula 1 style cars in the pitlane area of a fictional track called Beltoy Park.
ORC, equipped with the popular Open Source 3D Graphics Engine: OGRE, is a realistic PC racing simulator that is based on real world cars using a physics engine that was developed in partnership with a formula 1 team. This means that the simulator has been tried by a team of formula 1 engineers and tested by a formula 1 driver to ensure maximum realism.
The focus of ORC is to deliver a game with realistic physics, network accuracy and will be free to play with the majority of the standard cars and tracks.

Hi Folks, Thanks for the positive comments, it’s really encouraging for me. I am the developer of ORC. I took 4 years out of work to try and finish ORC, unfortunately the last year was pretty much the year from hell with family illness etc and I didn’t manage to finish it on time.
Currently I am working full time to pay the bills, it’s a great little company, but it means I have very little time to work on ORC at the moment, so I will have to ask you to try and be patient
. I am trying to find some way of being able to work on ORC as well as paying the bills, but unfortunately I haven’t found a way yet.
I think it has lots of potential, hopefully I’ll be able to get investment or find another way to make it work, but I will finish, it just may take a little longer than I’d hoped

We haven’t quite nailed down exactly how we will charge for ORC.
We hope that the standard setups on the cars will be fast enough for people to compete without spending anything at all. The upgrades will likely be to allow more setup changes rather than +100HP style things.
We just want to be able to keep developing it and that does take a bit of cash as we all have bills to pay and family’s to feed
. It’ll be hard to strike the balance between getting enough money to keep us going while trying not to make it too expensive.
Although from the feedback we’ve got so far it might be better just to sell it at a fairly low price as people seem to like owning sims outright.
This will be……..Awesome?
