RCT: Audi, Toyota and Nissan at Le Mans

The motorsport season has finally started again. Between all the serious racing going on lets not forget to laugh as well. This year ill be sketching and drawing again to bring you regular RaceCarToons here at RaceDepartment. Enjoy!

Subject of today is the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans. After the withdrawel of Peugeot we all feared it would become a boring race. But then out of the blue there was the entry of the Hybrid Toyota and spectacular DeltaWing powered by Nissan. It seems they aren’t getting along yet :)

Please leave your comments below and i’ ll see you next time for more RaceCarToons

I like this cartoon. You should do a compilation of your illustrations at the end of the racing seasons as a pdf download for racedepartment members. All the best Omar

Don’t be surprised that Nissan Deltawing prototype really leaves these cars behind.

As unusual as it looks, looks can be deceiving. Look out.

    3…2…1… TAKE-OFF LOL!

I’ll be there, let’s see how fast it can go(towards the sky)

Nice comic Omer! You still working on something like the Vader Story earlier?

The Deltawing looks like a snake  An ANGRY snake.

    Haha. I like the cartoon.
On a side note, I hope that car comes in completely last place. I like the idea of everything except the stupid shape.
What’s wrong with making little changes to racing? The engine and efficiency(idea) iis great, but why such a radical change in shape? Next thing we know, they’ll want to use Tron light-cycles, or just use robots to drive the things.
Motorsports were never invented to be efficient, it was to show who had bigger engine (and testicles) while making a super un-safe car go ridiculously fast and hope your car actually turned when you turned the wheel. If airplane designers were concerned about efficiency they’d still be using hot air balloons.

Sorry about the negativity. Really, good luck to the Nissan Deltawing project though. I hope it is just a “fad” in motorsport racing and we can get back to seeing beautiful machines pushing the boundaries of speed and efficiency in the way we all appreciate.

“If airplane designers were concerned about efficiency they’d still be using hot air balloons.”

Using hot air balloons to move 300 people and their luggage several thousands miles is more efficient than a modern airliner? What? The high bypass ratio engines on modern jets are beaten in efficiency only to ship engines and power stations, neither of which are as limited in size and weight. That’s without getting started on the strides that could be made if the public weren’t so stubborn.

I agree with your motorsports view though, and I don’t understand the application of that shape to anything which isn’t a fast jet. Great comic though. Love these.

Nice! I’d love to see another one where prototypes are complaining about their new fins

  10. Zeynel Babacan says:

    soooo great love it!!! :D

  11. Nicholas Dawson-Lathan says:

Great job man! I like it. Now do something about the dorsel fins on the cars!
